hi everyone just wanna ask something that confuses me.. my priority date is february 9, 2011 which i know that really needs patience for it to be current but what i don't understand is when will it be called current .. Is it when the visa bulletin indicates the exact month date and year(february 9,2011) or for example visa bulletin comes out as April 7, 2011 is my priority date can be called current?

who is filing for you?

both will be current on the visa bulletin, it can be the same date or after, not prior to your date.

for example, if the month before was in January 1st and it jumped to April 9th, all the petitions between January 1st and April 9th will be current, and also any other petitions prior to April 9th that weren't filed.

if your priority date was current in October and you didn't know, or you didn't check the visa bulletin, you can still file up to a year of when your priority date was current, even if it passed, if the visa bulletin hasn't retrogressed, but kept going forward and you missed your mohth.
