court-less relationship

Hello guys,

Failing relationship, home sick, home bored, ... etc. :reading:

The void feeling of proper courtship will always remains and always will be missing; hence, hint, and etc can occur.

There is no special starting point to make a very beautiful, long lasting, non boring, none home sick relationship.

Some people meet online today and tomorrow they are thinking about getting married. Hey! can you first do some courtship like the good old days and then think about marriage?

I wonder if "courtship-less" is a bit worse than arranged married?

If this is not a proper post, it is okay if it gets deleted.

My 2 cents!

hehe, are you talking about the "good ole days of the USA" or elsewhere? Courtship in the USA is vastly different from many, many countries.... Many countries were arranged at birth. Or you were matched up with another family in childhood, you became friends and married. If you want to go back to the "good ole days", people married at 12, 14,16. they had many, many kids. Some kids did not live long enough to see kindergarten. I appreciate your post. But I think you need to think on the "good ole days" a bit more. You are romanticizing a time and missing what was going on during that time. If two people met and wanted to get married, the families blessed the marriage, they married. Nothing today has changed from yesterday. It is all the same as it was. the only difference is people are trying to change what was the norm by their own societal values on others. There is morality, and what is society accepts. However, what people have forgotten today, is those that married quickly generally outlasted long courtships by a margin of 3 to 1. Plus they usually stayed married through the hardest times. The problem with marriages today is as soon as the hard tiems comes, one spouse splits. the "for worse", "in sickness", "love, honor, obey", "cherish", "for poorer", "forsake all others", "care for, please, make each other happy", "devoted", "faithful" parts have all lost meaning. The worst part is when one spouse takes the fight to the bedroom. THAT is WHEN the marriage is doomed.

Not entirely sure what the point of this post is.. but just wanted to add my 2 cents..

My hubby and I did not meet online, and yes we had what most people could consider a courtship because we were able to spend a considerable amount of time together before we decided to get married.. Having said that, I don't think our relationship is any better than those who met online, because people can find love in the strangest ways. My parents met on a plane and had a whirlwind courtship, and they have been married over 30 years.

And just because we had ample of time to get to know each other before tying the knot doesn't mean I am devoid of the feeling of homesickness. It's perfectly normal to feel homesick especially if you were/are very close to your family. And being bored.. you better believe your wife will be bored while she is waiting for her green card because if there's one thing k1 applicants should know beforehand.. its that the wait for the greencard is also a long process, and staying home while your hubby works can be very boring especially if you are not used to it. Before I moved here, I was working in Shanghai so I was always busy and its such an accessible place where you can take the subway to any place, but now I need a car to move around, and I can't work without an EAD etc etc..

Be prepared for random bouts of homesickness, and boredom.. I experience it from time to time, but then again I look at my hubby and then I realize it's all worth it. The question is.. are you worth it too? (F)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

for my finace, I am putting in the philippine channels for her. So she can see some things back home. I may not understand it all, but I can learn. I will also put some japanese and russian channels as well. To learn other languages together. also, U have set up her parents and friends with a laptop. The one she is using to talk with me now on. they can talk with her here once she comes here. the hard part is knowing my finace will be bored at times, and trying to find a way through it. or the homesickness. She will be excited, but just like college, it sets in when you are close to your family. I just hope those who are homesick can make it through. Each step is rough, but have to make it together. If there are problems, talk on it. But not seriously. Just talk a little here and there. find or suggest some things to do. invite family friends over. tell your hubby you need to go shopping. then go to the mall and model dresses and clothes for him. (go to some lingerie store and buy something to model for him later.) You don't have to buy anything to go shopping, but sometimes you can be creative in ways......

mmmmm...... :reading:

it just bother me each time I read about "failing relationship, when they come here they are so bored at home, they get home sick..etc."

If two people love each other for heart intention, I think the above mentioned would be a thing of the past.

Let me define 2 things for you:

1. when a lady post that she is bored (like many many post we read) it means she is not happy with the person she is with @ home.

2. when a the lady says "homesick" it is us that she is sick of that house. There is nothing in that house that makes her happy.

You see my boys and girls ....I am getting some where with my formula!!!

2 cents.
