Probably a dumb question but,

Hoping that we will start NVC process soon. In reviewing all the instructions, there is a form DS 2001 stating you have assembled required documents and are ready for embassy appointment. Since you already sent all documents to NVC, when does the beneficiary send the DS 2001 to embassy.

you sent the ds-2001 to the embassy along with the ds-230 that you are ready with all your documents for the interview, fax it or mail it,

first your case has to be complete from the nvc, call the nvc if your case is complete ask for the new case number, allow about two weeks to get to the embassy send the ds-2001 and ds-230 to the embassy your ready for the interview,

Oh, this is the first time I hear about form ds-2001. For Santo Domingo consulate we don't have to send form ds-2001 with the visa application, but we do have to pay $15 to have an independent agent(banco popular) verify that all documents are complete before interview. I guess that's the equivalent of form ds-2001. One more example of consulate specific procedures
