The deadline is drawing near. I will not be able to obtain a copy of my tax transcript in time to get to my fiance prior to the interview on June 22. I have the completed 1040 prepared and that was E-Filed on March 22, 2011. I will send the original 1040 along with all schedules, last 4 years W-2s from the US Postal Service and Employment Letter from the US Postal Service. Will this be sufficient? I know they only look at the gross income from the previous year to determine where I fall under the poverty guidelines. Hope this will be enough.

I would include three months worth of your most recent paycheck stubs because the consular officer will be looking at your current sustained income.

Your in Excellent Shape for this. Worry to Much.

2008-2009-2010 Income. They maynot even ask for previous years.

They don NOT Look at Gross Income from the previous year (But, the Counselor might). Currant Income.

I think it's Mark. I seem some people struggle with being a few thousand short on 2010 Income but thier Currant Wage or Anticipated Wage even though bareley making it approved the Visa.

I know you make good money. You worry to much. She will be here soon!

You will be Fine

Apologize for that. 2010 Tax Statements are required but Currant Income for 2011 with as said above. Proof w/pay stubs, etc.

For at least the last 20 years, most "pay stubs" have shown year to date income. As such, one recent pay stub is sufficient evidence of current ongoing employment and level of income. Trust me on this. Not my first rodeo.

You're right...three months is overkill, but I like to play it safe, especially when it takes so little effort to do so.

I submitted my fiance's tax transcripts during my interview but I was given a white sheet telling me that I still need to submit his latest Income Tax Return. How long does it usually take to get the ITR? Hope it won't take long.smile.gif

I believe you can request them from the IRS and can have them in a couple weeks.

I submitted 3 prior tax transcrips (2007-2009) and since last year was submitted in Feb --I submitted the 1040 along with the W2 for 2010 . As many said also --I submitted the last 2 mths paystubs . They accepted it . Just make sure you have other supporting Fiancial documents as required .good luck .

Or the tax return transcripts can be faxed immediately if requested by phone. Again, tax information is about past income. Pay stubs and employer letters are about current income. I strongly advise all to provide either a pay stub or employer letter in addition to at least the most recent tax return.

Hey Richie Rich, just noticed your timeline and we were interviewed on the same date.. smile.gif congrats on the approval!

During my interview, they didn't ask for the pay stubs or employment letter (which I brought with me too in case they ask for it)..just the affidavit of support and the 2010 tax transcript..my fiance thought that it would be proof enough but we were wrong..so we have to submit still the latest ITR..how long did your fiance wait for his 1040?

Thanks btw! :)

Might want to also take pushbrk's advice and give them a call. Apparently that way, you can get them faxed to you right away. :)
