well, there other types of schwartzwald tortes out there.. but cherry is among the favorit type. I have had derivitives with raspberries, peach, lemon, apricot, and lime.
Derivatives? Are you kidding me? The SW Kirschtorte is the best! :yes:
I know it the best, hence why I said among the favorites.. but the others are also quite good. :yes:
Of course, any cake with liquor in it is good. :yes:

Yes, I have one: Pour Bailey's generously over pound cake and enjoy! :whistle:

There's a small local chain of cafés here that makes one that's coconut.

I have to admit, I like that better—I like cherry a lot, yet somehow I don't really like Black Forest Cake.

My kids don't like it either... they don't like whipped cream. I will be making two different cakes... one for them, one for us!

I don't like cherry at all, so it might be fun to try one someday again with another flavor...raspberry is my fave, so that sounds good to me...might be a bit TOO sweet tho...M.
