Timeline

I was introduced to my fiance back in 2001. We were both college students, but in different countries. I met her Aunt, who asked me several times if I would like to correspond with her niece. I finally said yes, got the address and sent my first letter. About a month later, she wrote back! We maintained this pen/email/text (and a few calls) friendship all the way to May of 2009, when she finally convinced me to visit her. Within hours of being in her presence, I knew she was the woman I had been praying for the whole time. I was there for two weeks, proposed a few months after visiting and immediately began researching how I could bring her here...

We haven't really "dated" in the true sense of the word, as we live in different countries and are both busy working adults with little time (vacation days) and money. But we're banking on the fact that they'll see our 9 year friendship + 2 year engagement and hopefully not be doubtful of the legitimacy of our relationship. If all goes well, we'll be here together in August.

06/20/2002 - Introduced through her Aunt
07/05/2002 - Correspondence begins and continues for years; friendship and feelings slowly but surely grow stronger.
05/12/2009 - Met in Philippines! Stayed for two weeks and had a great time. Can't wait to go back!
10/11/2009 - She said YES! (became engaged)

11/15/2010 - Touched
04/05/2011 - It's been 5 months and not a peep from USCIS/VSC :-(
04/19/2011 - Touched/Text Message and Email this AM (APPROVED!)
04/22/2011 - Hard copy NOA2 received (166 days)

US Embassy
(All dates are Philippines dates)
05/20/2011 - Birth Certificate error cleared up

Well ours seems to be a little shorter than most here. We met just about a year ago, really connected strongly last September and talked online everyday since then. I went to see her in January when we decided to get married. Went back again in March and now we're hoping she'll be here in a few months!

I met my fiancee in October of 2008 while we were both studying abroad in Japan, though at different universities. I remember being immediately stunned by her but not having the courage to talk to her because she just looked too cute. Somehow we ended up talking, and then dating, and I have been to visit her in her home country twice now. Her interview for the K1 is coming up this month and I am praying that we will soon be together. I am amazed to have such a wonderful woman in my life.

3 months from meeting online to proposing but it only took 3 days to fall madly in love. And since the last time I fell in love was 31 years ago, I knew immediately I had to make her mine. (L)

Oooh....five-ish years? Lived together for three of those. Met as thirteen/fourteen year-olds at aerospace camp back in the day. :) Going on four years of marriage. Weird that I've known this man for over half of my life now, almost.

We started dating 3 months before the proposal. I worried it would be a problem at our interview but it wasn't even brought up.

Had same concerns, but love takes many guises and recent studies suggest it takes a fith of a second to fall in love. That said we met online via an online radio station chatted for a month or so engaged 6 months later, married a year later and will hopefully be together a year and a half later being july august 2011 with many trips since our first meeting to and from each other inc Ireland, paris, scotland
