Actually I think the whole concept of a "metrosexual" is something that was created by feminists and gays to malign straight men. The whole premise is that a "normal" straight man owns 3 pairs of underwear and has lost two of them under the couch, is barely able to make sure his socks match each other, probably stinks, has no idea how to put on a suit, and refuses to comb his hair. In reality, men that take care of themselves and know how to look confident in a suit have always been more attractive to women. If you live in a metropolitan area where commuting by car is not practical, having a bag is a prerequisite. It's not a man-purse, it's called a briefcase.

The metrosexual was invented to perpetuate the stereotype that men are lazy slobs, providing an elusive antithesis.

Ah, but to my knowledge the insinuation in this thread of a sophisticated, European man being "metrosexual" was not made by feminists or gays, but rather by an American man proud of his "man-ness."

It's a loser magazine. I saw one in the quackopractors office once and it's for guys who can't get laid for the fact they are pretty boy metrosexuals who don't have a clue.

You ever see those guys who drive those little foreign cars with the tinted windows, loud mufflers, etc....? Same thing....metrosexuals who are confused about their sexuality and have to spend money in order to get laid. Pathetic if you ask me.

It's like this. Your typical American guy drives a truck, doesn't give two sh*ts what beer is in his hand as long as it's cheap(free ftw), and could care less about clothes, jewelery, etc... Food ? Pizza, hamburgers, or anything that fills the gut. No bs "TGIF" or Applebee's". It's something that fills the guts and doesn't have commercials that make you want to puke.

Sex, food, TV, fishing, sleeping...that's what it's all about. Nothing more, nothing less. Any guy that's more complicated than that is on his way to qualifying for "metrosexual" in my book.

One other thing...guys that wear earrings ..lol Earrings are for gypsy's, pirates, and metrosexuals.

I have apparently never had any real doings with typical American men then. They sound incredibly boring and self-obsessed, anyway. I'd rather have a dude that was into me and gave a toss about what he looked like than some backwoods rube with no palate for beer or decent food.

No, we want our men to be good looking, intelligent, partners...to be a man who is confident enough in his own sexuality that he doesn't need a beer belly, a truck, or a mullet to project his manliness. Someone who appreciates his wife's beauty, kindness, intelligence, without feeling the need to flaunt her like an object. Someone who has wit, who reads and can carrying on an intelligent conversation. Someone who is just as much at home in a high powered business world as he is in the backyard at a bbq with the neighbors.

If having to give up that means that I will be "replaced" by a hot Russian girl...well, that's totally fine by me. I'd much rather have a real man and be a true partner than be taken for granted because I'm beautiful.
