I remember having a similar discussion at a party once, and when it was pointed out that faking orgasms isn't helping the matter, one of the ladies asked the guys if they always tell the truth to their wives about how they look. Well, I was one of the first ones to respond, "Why not?" If my wife looks heavy and bloated, I tell her. Why should we go through a charade of lying to one another? What ever happened to honesty?

I would venture to guess the charade during mating might be more about a woman's inability to articulate what will create the fireworks than the man's inability to supply the ignition. It can also be inexperience (read younger) women who do not achieve the big O, because they don't understand how their body works yet.

Or it might be an ego booster for the partner, who knows but painting it as a breach of trust probably will not be helpful.
