Appt Scheduled but still no Embassy letter

My wife called the U.S. Embassy and they said our K3 was never closed. They also said they sent a letter to both of us stating she is eligible to pay her $350 fee and schedule her interview appt. Well, since the letter was sent out on May 12th and she still hasn't received it, she called the Embassy and asked if we could pay our $350 at the required bank and call to schedule our appt. They said yes and her interview is scheduled for June 21st. Meanwhile, we still haven't received the letter from the Embassy and she can't take her Medical at St. Lukes without it. Also, NVC told us to keep our I-130 open and our Immigration Lawyer told us the same. Our Final Paperwork for the I-130 should be approved in the next week or two and we're hoping by the time my wife has her interview on June 21st, it can be for the Immigrant Visa instead of K3.

Is that possible? We have paid all our fees for the I-130 already just waiting on our Final Approval. This has all been a crazy ride but hopefully if all goes well, my wife will be here for the 4th of July!!!!!!

How long is it suppose to take for the Embassy letter to get to my wife in Batangas?

Once she is approved at her interview, how long does it normally take for her to go pick up her Visa at the destination they give her as an option rather then her residence?

WE'RE BOTH SOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!

Thanks,

John

Quick update..................NVC said they have received all our Final Paperwork and should be completed processing in a few days at the most. They will then most likely try and schedule us an interview but should find out we already have one for our K3????? In any case, once they email us to approve our Final Paperwork my Immigration Lawyer will probably email NVC and explain to them our situation and hope they will send all our paperwork to the Embassy in Manila and let us process the Immigrant Visa instead of the K3 at the time of our June 21 interview. PLEASE SAY THIS IS POSSIBLE SO WE DON'T HAVE TO ADJUST STATUS ONCE SHE GETS HERE! Your thoughts?????

Yes, is possible to have a K-3 and CR-1 in play at the same time, albeit with different time ticks.

Those time ticks used to have 2 years apart in difference, now it's a matter of weeks.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Darnell,

My wife just got her letter from the Embassy Re-K3. She goes for her Medical early this week. Our I-130 should be approved early next week as well from NVC. Do you think even though we have a K3 Interview scheduled for June 21 that they can send all our completed paperwork from the I-130 to the Embassy in Manila so that we can change over to the Immigrant Visa for my wife to enter the Country with?

If you'd like for her to have an IMMIGRANT VISA (Please Note a K-3 visa is NOT an immigrant VISA)

then

hold off, delay all, on the K-3 visa at US Embassy Manila IV unit, except to tell them that you'd like to postpone that interview for a few months.

I understand a K3 is not an Immigrant Visa but was hoping since we are almost done with everything, they will let us switch to the Immigrant Visa right before her interview as long as they have all our paperwork from NVC.

Regardless, I just want her here as quick as possible so whichever way that happens to be is the way we will move forward. The Immigrant Visa would have more benefits compared to the K3 but being together sooner rather then later TRUMPS EVERYTHING and definitely not gonna postpone any SET interview and push our time back 1-2 months.

Then why worry about the CR-1 visa, at all? Presence trumps all, as you say; I guess I am stumped.
