Kemal and Tuana,

That helps a lot if you are confirming what you got is what I got :)

I've never heard or read of anyone else at VJ receiving 2 emails in 2 days.

Are you saying that my first email was for "petition approved at VSC" and my second email says "accepted at NVC"?

So, in your case, you got an "NOA2 letter" and an "acceptance letter" in the mail a few days after you got those 2 emails?

I'm still a little confused as to what "acceptance" means: accepted by whom and for what, since the petition was accepted back in December 2010 and supposedly processed and approved a few days ago :)

Thanks once again for sharing your experience!! :)

Hello, I am sorry if my initial e-mail was somewhat confusing but this is what I was trying to state to you:

You initially get the notice that you received via e-mail.

A few days later after that, you will receive the I-797 Receipt of acceptance for the NOA2.

What happens after the NOA2 acceptance letter (either the e-mail or the receipt) is that the file for the K-1 visa is then sent to the NVC for processing. This process usually takes about 20-30 days. You can call the NVC to get status updates and to get your case #. That will also be the case number once your file is forwarded to the consulate.

I hope this helps to clarify and again I apologize if my before response was confusing!

Kemal and Tuana,

Thank you for trying to explain again. I appreciate it very much :)

I was trying to fit what you said into my unique situation: I received 2 emails in 2 days. Depending on how one reads it, it can be contradicting :D

The first email from USCIS said I was approved. The second email from USCIS was as if I had just submitted my I-129F petition :D The second tier agent said, according to what she saw on her screen, my petition has not been adjudicated. When asked why I got an approval email, she told me to call back next week because they were having computer problems.

Anyway, I'll wait and see. I'll call USCIS again next week, and look for my NOA2 letter in the mail, hoping it was a computer glitch that generated the second "acceptance" status email, unless "acceptance" meant accepted at NVC.

Thank you once again!! :)

This is basically just the e-mail acceptance and you will get the actual "paper letter" of acceptance within a few days. I got mine 3 days later. Then wait about 5 days and call NVC 603-334-0700 and ask them for your NVC case #. Then it takes on average 20-30 days (depending on processing time) before it is sent to consulate. Normally it is sent to consulate and received within 3-5 business days after that! Hope this helps

Kemal and Tuana,

Just as you said, "wait about 5 days and call NVC". Thank you! :)

I was pleasantly surprised when I called NVC last night (the 6th day). I didn't think I would be in their system so quickly. I'm very happy to receive my case number even before I got my NOA2 letter in the mail :)

The gentlemen I spoke to was very nice and knowledgeable. He answered my call very quickly after I pressed "1" for English and "2" for k and others visa petitions.

I was very impressed with their hours. They're open from 7:30am to 12-midnight Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. Wow!! I called last night at about 8pm Eastern Time and got through quickly.

So, regardless of my 2-email mystery with confusing "Post Decision Activity" and "Acceptance" case statuses and the USCIS agent who told me last Friday that my case has not been adjudicated, I'm glad the confusion is behind me as of last night :)

I hope my case serves as reference for future petitioners and beneficiaries with similar situation.

Good luck to everyone!! :)
