I currently have a green card which will expire on Apr ,2012.I'd like to visit my family in Europe this summer and I was wondering if I need a visa/permission/parola in order to leave the country for 2 weeks... I would be travelling with Canadian passport.

Any help would be appriciated.

Yes that's right, now you're permanent resident of the US, you can leave for up to 6 months without needing re-entry permit.

You don't need permission to leave, but you'll need permission to enter the Land of the Brave and Free again when coming back.

Permission granted, documented by your Green Card.
