First of all CONGRATULATION for your approvals. Now you don't have to do anything about choosing which path you go.NVC will do it for you.

Basically, they will void I129F and sent it back to USCIS.you will be going through i130(IR1/CR1).

BY the way,i have same thing too, but i'm still waiting for my approval, it's all soooo long.

Can you update your timeline?how long did your case took to get approved?

Any way, good luck for your journey. wish u all the best.

Hello Gaura,

Congrats and I am guessing it's a big relief now. I applied for I-130 and K3 and both of were approved at the same day.

Once both were transferred to NVC, I got an email from NVC few days ago saying they received both I-130 and I-129F for the same person, they have cancelled the K3 as this is no longer required.

Not sure if this info would be useful for you or not?

Thanks

I will try my best. At least let you know what I did, and what I think I would have done if I knew beforehand. I think one of the best place where you can find some info is here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/How_Do_I_Bring_My_Spouse_(Husband_or_Wife)_to_Live_in_the_United_States%3F

Now below is what I did:

1. Call NVC right away and update your and your wife's email address and contact number

2. Right after that, ask your wife to send an email to NVC (NVCINQUIRY@state.gov) making you as her agent of choice. There are plenty of email templates on Visa Journey.

3. You will receive an eamil with the confirmation in 2-3 days that you have been selected as the chocie of agent

4. This email will give you a link where you can login and pay the fee for AOS. So go there and pay the money right way. Within a day or two, the status of the fee will become "PAID" from "In Progress". By this time you should have all the necessary documents ready (I-864, Tax Transcript-guess you got the last three years by now, Pay-stub for the past 6 months, and Employment letter). I don't know you so can't speak for you, what you would need.

5. As soon as the status is changed to PAID, print out the Bar-Coded cover sheet from the site. By now, you should have the link to pay the IV (DS-230) fee ready. Pay them similarly to AOS and gather all the documents togather. Check the USCIS site http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html and find out what documents would you need as Civil Docs). Keep in mind, for IV, you will need to send 2 sets, one with all originals and certified documents and one exact copy of the first one.

6. Once the status is changed to "PAID", print out the coversheet for IV, put them in two seperate envelop with proper barcode on each envelop. Then mail them together in the same Large envelop.

I would recommend you to send an exact copy of whatever you are sending to NVC, send a copy to your wife as well.

I hope that should be enough work for you to start now. Fortunately I had all the documents prepared ahead in time; hence didn't waste any time.

Good luck on the next few busy days.

Passport Clearance for what? Part of the civil documents are "Photocopy of Beneficiary's biographic pages of the passport" and "Police Clearance Certificate" from beneficiary's current area. I do not know what Passport Clearance is. Can you please clarify bit more? Thanks
