Hi everyone. My fiancee and I are starting to get our I-129F package together. I hope to file in about a week or two. I've been trying to get as much info as I can to help make things go smoothly. My fiancee lived in Japan for some time. She's back in the Philippines now. I understand that she will need to get a police clearance from Tokyo. When it's her time to get her package from the US embassy will she automatically get a letter to take to the Japanese embassy requesting for a clearance? Or will she need to ask for such a letter from the US embassy? Thanks in advance.

From what I read, some who lives in the province just went to the nearest Japanese Consulate and requested for their police certificate. But since I just live in Cavite, I asked for a request letter from the USEM and brought it to Japan embassy. Tell her to bring her passport too cause those two embassies will be asking it from her. Japan embassy will instruct her to do some fingerprinting at Camp Crame and she must pay 200 pesos. She'll get her police certificate in 1 and a half to 2 months. But 3 months at the most. Hope this helps. smile.gif
