You were so lucky! My son and I got there at 7:35am (due to traffic) and we were there for 3 1/2 hours!!!

Those were the kinds of stories I was worried about! It was definitely pretty busy by that time. That stinks about the traffic - we stayed the night in Toronto and walked over from our hotel (Hilton Express is less than 10 minutes away) early.

What made me giggle was when we stopped in at the McDonald's on the way for some quick breakfast and he asked if my mom (who accompanied me) was on her way to work. She said no, we were here for something else and he said, "Oh, immigration?" I blank stared for a minute and then said, "Well, yeah, actually!" He said he gets people stopping in there before their appointments all the time.

Haha, that's an awesome story! Having VJ and things like that happen makes the entire process feel a lot more comfortable and normal, I feel like. Sometimes its hard to be out here in my life with people who don't really understand what we're going through to be with the person we love.

Also, mmm mcdonalds breakfast. We plan to get some when we leave my mom's in Brampton that morning, hopefully traffic isn't too bad.

My fiancee had his medical yesterday. In general it went well. He was there early (6:30) and was done by 8:30 or so.

He got a tetanus vaccine, had chicken pox as a child and did the blood test to show immunity for MMR. We got proof from the lab stating that he was immune but it only listed Rubella and Mumps so the doctor said it should have listed Measles as well. I don't know how or why we missed that but anyhow all he has to do is fax them a copy of proof that he is immune to Measles as well and then they will mail completed medical to us.

I did a separate thread about my medical since it got pretty complicated, but I was there just before 6am, was second in line, and out by 8:15, which was awesome!

My medical exam is tomorrow. I was going to take the GO train from Brampton but seeing as I wouldn't be first in line ( ) if I did that I arranged for a cab to drive me there at a flat rate. I can't really afford the $70 but I don't really give a damn at this point, haha.

I'm a little nervous because my most recent vaccinations are handwritten onto my record by my doctor but MOST of my older vaccines are on the "official" record so hopefully it's okay. *sigh*

So I received my medical results today, or rather, I received the envelope that I'm not allowed to open. They sent me my x-ray, too, and the vaccination sheet was outside of the envelope. That's all okay, right? I know I can't open the envelope but I would probably know if I failed, yes?

Allright, we are *officially* done trying to reschedule. (I mean it this time!) Booked a hotel and everything. Based on price and distance to the consualte, decided to go with Hotel La Tour Centreville. Anyone else making those final plans yet?

I My husband has interview on Aug 31st, 8.00 am.
