Ralyse, you sure are not having an easy time with this process! I really hope things get better for you!

Coconuts, that is great about your biometric not needing to be rescheduled! I had mine yesterday in Baltimore. I didn't think to bring my marriage certificate, so when the girl asked for it, I kind of panicked inside a little. I said I didn't think to bring it because it didn't mention it on the sheet (just the appointment letter and ID). So she said she would see what she can do. She came out and said, "yea, I checked the system...you are there so it's cool!" She wrote on the top of the form I had to fill out "use name on letter", so they would process it in my married name. So friendly! The girl who took my fingerprints was so nice too. I had a much better experience there than the SSA. She took action and wanted to help me where the guy who did my SSN gave me attitude. Ugh.

I just hope to get my EAD soon. I don't plan to work until after June (Canadian wedding ceremony on June 2nd for my family and friends!), but it will be nice to have this part done (plus I need my AP!)

Oh, they also had no problem combining my two separate appointments. She was like "You mean you don't want to come back again to see us???". :)

Got home from my biometrics appointment a few hours ago. It was pretty uneventful. It was in a really, really sketchy part of town. Everyone there was really nice though. I actually arrived there an hour early but they took me right away. I was in and out in fifteen minutes.

I brought my marriage certificate, since my appointment is in my married name and my passport is in my maiden name. I had a feeling it would be an issue if it didn't match, and I was right. They were so thankful that I brought it, because they didn't want to turn me away.

So glad that's over.

Yea it never even occurred to me to bring my certificate. I felt like a dumbass after lol! I am so glad they worked with me and were able to look me up in the system.

You got lucky and found one of the only helpful, understanding people throughout this process! Glad it worked out for you.

Site now says "Decision" for our interview, and lists the following: During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

So... hopefully it's approval? No Post-Decision Activity or Card Production, just Decision.

Got my card today, I am so beyond relieved... going to SSN office tomorrow to update everything, which I'm sure they'll manage to screw up... lol

I also have a job testing thing tomorrow, just basic call centre skills for a job I really don't want. The hours are horrible, the start date isn't until April and the pay is less than half of what I made at home for the same sort of position (which made me miserable, ugh). Unfortunately, of the 40-odd applications I've submitted this is the only call I've gotten so hopefully it goes well... and if I get it, I still have until April to find something better, I guess.

How's everyone else faring with job hunting? For those that have their EAD, at least.

Congrats on your card Ralyse! Should be mostly smooth sailing from now on, lol. And good luck with the job interview tomorrow :) Hopefully something better comes up. Call centre work does NOT sound fun :/

It's been 7 weeks since hubby got laid off and he's applied at over 100 jobs. Unfortunately most of them are out of state because there aren't really any jobs in his particular career path here >_< I just wish I had my green card on the way because if I had a job it'd be a big help right now... Until then it's just unemployment which the office keeps messing up for some reason and still hasn't sent him any cheques :/
