Hey Guys, Just wondering if anyone has had a problem filing their paperwork without a SSN. Unfortunately with my husbands work schedule and the fact that the closest SSN Office is over 30 mins away I have not been able to get my SSN.

POE was Sept 29th and we were married Oct 4th...

I also have a question about the medical... I had my medical done on Sept 1st and didn't require a flu shot so I haven't had one... has anyone sent off their paperwork without this? My medical says not age appropriate for a lot of things... grr ... I would have done this paperwork a while ago but with the cost of moving, buying furniture, christmas.. It's taking forever to save up enough...

I am assuming you are now applying to adjust status (you might want to update your profile information :) ). You don't need a SSN to file the AOS,

Your I-94 is almost expired so you are not able now to get a SSN until after you file your AOS and receive back your EAD. SSA will not process or issue SSN within 2 weeks of an I-94 expiry date. Hopefully you won't require a SSN to be added to your husband's health insurance plan through work, but you may have some problems with the upcoming tax year. Your husband will need to include either your SSN or your ITIN (Individual Tax Payer Identification number) http://www.irs.gov/b...d=96696,00.html when he files his income tax returns. Depending on how long it takes to process the AOS or the EAD, they may not be in your possession early enough for ou to get a SSN and him to meet the tax filing deadline (April 15) so you should definitely investigate getting an ITIN now, especially if your husband likes to submit his returns early. (Depending on how you two choose to file, you may need to do your Canadian returns prior to him doing his US returns as well).

Some of the medical requirements are seasonally appropriate and age appropriate. You can try submitting the vaccination worksheet with the AOS application instead of getting the vaccination part of the Medical form completed by a Civil Surgeon here in the US and see if they accept it. If they do, then you're fine. If they don't they will issue an RFE for the document and you will need to get a Civil Surgeon to transcribe the vaccination record to the medical section. Depending on the 'time frame' you may or may not be required to get the flu shot in order to get the form completed. You may just wish to go ahead and get the flu shot now - you can get them done at almost every pharmacy for between $15 and 20 without health insurance and usually at no cost if you have health insurance. That way, if you do get an RFE you already have one requirement out of the way. If you don't get an RFE, well you still get the benefit of the flu vaccine.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Received the NOA1 emails today stating that my case has been transferred to the NBC.

I only received two emails, is that normal? I thought I'd get one for AOS as well as EAD and AP. Maybe I'm wrong.

I got 3 emails all on December 23rd. And 3 texts right after. (My cell went kinda crazy when that happened!). Give it a day or two. Maybe those are for your AP and EAD and your AOS may come after? It is the holidays and things are usually crazy. I got my hard copies on the 27th.

I kinda squealed when I got all those notifications on my phone! I was so anxious waiting for them (NOT a patient person here...which is not good for this kind of process!)

I'm not patient at all either, so I was very happy to see the two emails in my inbox. :) I hope there's no issue with the third one ... I guess I'll wait to panic until I get my hard copies.

Well, EAD is marked as Card Production ordered as of today, woo! AP is "Post Decision Activity"... really hoping to have that in hand by the interview, it would suck to be that close to Canada and not able to hop over the border to visit.

I just realized I forgot to make a copy of my DS-3025 that I sent off. If I get an RFE for the medical stuff, what do I do?

You may be able to contact the place you had your medical at. Otherwise, if you do get an RFE, you could just get that test they do for vaccinations and get the I-693 filled out.
