I tried writing this story in English but it was taking me too long, So, I decided to do it in Spanish, my primary language.

I’m really happy : ) : ) : ) because even though I didn’t get the visa at this time, tengo la opcion of filing for the I-601 Waiver. My Wife !!

Here is my story, We finally received la tan esperada carta para mi cita en Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. A immigrant visa interview has been scheduled on May 13, 2011 at 02:15pm.

10 Months later after we originally submitted the I-130 Petition.

FLIGHT INFO AND HOTEL PRICES.

Todo paso muy rapido, my wife and I bought the flight tickets and made the hotel reservations. We stayed at the City Junior Hotel which is just right in front of the consulate.

There are some more hotels around the consulate (Quality Inn, Holiday Inn, Microtel, Fiesta Inn, Consulado Embassy). I really didn't check the prices. Mas o menos $ 70.00 – 100.00 dollars.

TAXI PRICES

We got to Ciudad Juarez on May 10th, 2011 at 4:35pm. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel, paid $ 21.50 dolares. La tarifa es segun a la zona que vayas, nosotros ibamos a la zona 1 where the consulate is. (Less than 5 miles)

Less than 10 min later we got to the hotel, we checked in and went to the room. As soon as We walked into the room, I thought it was kind of small but at least it has A/C, phone, and cable. One more thing, todas las mananas las senoras que limpian lo cuartos y que por cierto son muy amables pasan a recoger las toallas so, make sure de poner el sign do not disturb si planeas dormir hasta mas tarde.

WHERE TO EAT

There is a place that I really liked it’s called SUPER SALADS.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION

There are only 2 authorized clinics: Clinica Medica Internacional y Servicios Medicos de la Frontera. I decided to go to Servicios medicos de la Frontera (The blue building) porque un taxi driver me dijo que they have a much faster service. And they do !

Both clinics open at 6am. NO puedes hacer una appointment, they help you on a first come, first served basis.

1st FLOOR

Miercoles 11 de Mayo, 2011

1.SECURITY GUARD

1.1RECEPTION (6:10am)

Show the receptionist the interview appointment letter and your passport. Te asignan un numero and they send you a la parte trasera del edificio.

4.BLOOD TEST (You and 10 more people en el mismo room)

2nd FLOOR

5.BLOOD PRESSURE, WEIGHT, HEIGHT, EXE EXAM. (You and 10 more people en el mismo room)

Very Important Note for the Exe Exam: While covering your eye, DO NOT TOUCH your eyeball or you will get blurred vision. (Practice at home)

6.PHYSICAL EXAM

Te Mandan a otro cuarto y te dicen que te quites la ropas except for the underwear. She asks you to pull down the underwear, looks at your manhood for like 1 or 2 seconds.

8.PAY (1st Floor)

I paid, $ 343.13. After paying they give you the appt letter and passport back and tell you to come back at 4pm to pick up the results. I GOT OUT OF THE CLINIC AT 8:10 am (Mucho mas temprano de lo que me imagine)

9.PICK-UP THE RESULTS

They also give you the vaccination documentation worksheet and a CD which contains the Chest X-Ray (Ya no te entregan la radiografia, solamente el CD) On the CD cover comes this website. You might want to check it out. www.examenesconsulares.com

FINGERPRINTS AND PHOTOGRAPHS

ASC or CAS (son lo mismo)

Go to http://mexico.usvisa-info.com and follow the instructions to log in and to schedule an appointment at any of the Applicant Service Centers(ASC’s) in Mexico. Each applicant is required to appear in person at the ASC o CAS en espanol(Centro de Aplicantes) prior to the consular appointment date. At the ASC your fingerprints and photographs will be collected.

Note: You will get an email confirmation with the date and time of your appointment.

At the same website, select a DHL courier office location where you would like to receive your visa.

Note: I chose one in the Tijuana area close to where I live because I didn’t want to spend another day or two waiting in Juarez.

I had my appointment on Wednesday May 12th, 2011 at 11:15am. You must arrive not more than 15 min before your scheduled appointment. El Centro de Aplicantes is located in a little shopping center half of block away from the consulate and next to the Sala de Espera del consulado. It took them less than 10 min to take my fingerprints and pictures and that was it. I went back to the hotel.

Note: It is very important to take with you the passport, and the interview appointment letter because they will stamp it.

INTERVIEW

Friday May 13th, 2011

12:15 pm

You must arrive not more than 30 min before your scheduled appointment.

1.Antes de llegar al consulado tienes que presentarte en la sala de espera del consulado que como dije before is half of a block away from the consulate, next to Centro de aplicantes (CAS) donde te toman las huellas y fotografias. Muestras tu passport and your interview appointment letter and they will stamp it again. (Not more than 5 min)

2. After that you go to the consulate and make line outside (hay una sola linea), show the security guard your passport, stamped appt. letter and la bolsa negra cerrada que contiene los resultados medicos y te va a dejar pasar.

(Briefcases are allowed)

ONLY your passport, and the stamped interview appointment letter. It is very important that you don’t lose this number, ya que con el te van a estar llamando durante el dia. (El mio era 5446).

5 4 4 6 > 3 0

Entre al consulado and it is pretty much like a bank, but with like a hundred windows. Te hace algunas easy questions like what is your wife’s name? Where is she right now? Where do you work?

After that puedes regresar a sentarte either inside or outside of the consulate. I decided to go buy a sandwich and a orange juice al puesto de comida(I paid $ 5.00 dollars).

(and guess which one). YES, the middle finger.

1.What is your name?

2.What is your birthdate?

3.What is your wife’s name?

4.How old is she?

5.What does your wife do for a living?

6.Have you ever been in the US? I said, Yes

7.How long did you stay in the US? More than 6 years

8.When did you Exactly enter the US? She wrote down the date.

9.When did you Exactly leave the US? She wrote down the date.

10.How did you come to the US? Without inspection

11.Why did you leave the US?

12.Where and how did you meet your wife?

13.Where did you propose?

Las preguntas se acabaron, then she started typing something in the computer. She handed me the printed sheet and told me.

Como lo dije antes, me siento muy contento porque al menos me dio la oportunidad of filing for a waiver.

Notas importantes:

Hi everyone

I am looking for any advice or tips for my up coming immigrant visa interview in Ciudad Juarez

What documents should i take?

should i schedule pick up for visa at Juarez or in my home state?

What are some reasons my immigrant visa can be denied?

Can i expedite the time it takes to receive visa from DHL since they take your passport and thats the only ID i have to travel?

and like i said any other advice would be very much appreciated.

thank you
