I just got approved yesterday, no im just asking all over the place whats the next step? this help would be highly appreciated.

After your packet leaves NVC (1 to 2 weeks) and is sent to Santo Doningo, you need to keep calling the visa specialist until they give you an interview date. Once you have the date, stay on top of ACTUALLY getting the packet. If the beneficiary has not received the packet within two weeks of the interview you should call the Embassy and request a "duplicate" packet for pick-up directly at the Embassy in Santo Domingo. My fiance had to do this since he never received the packet and we actually never received news of the interview! If it had not been for the fact that I stayed on top of the situation calling the visa specialist the interview would have come and gone without us being aware of it...

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

I just got approved yesterday, no im just asking all over the place whats the next step? this help would be highly appreciated.

Congrats on your approval!!! Below are the steps you need to take. Be Proactive!

After your case gets to NVC and forwarded to the Embassy, you must begin gathering evidence for your case and the "required documents" needed from Interview.

The current wait time for interview to be scheduled could be 2-3 months.

The Embassy will then send the beneficiary (Dominican born) a list of instructions similar to this one:

http://santodomingo....structions.html

Additionally, follow these steps here. It's a lot but, its worth it.

After you receive your NOA2 (approving your I-129f petition), you will receive a letter from the NVC telling you that they are processing your case and it will mailed to the appropriate Embassy. During this time your case is examined then repackaged and mailed to the Embassy handling your case.

To get valid information just wait 1-2 weeks and call (toll-free) the Visa Specialist (Department of State) in Washington D.C. Call 202 663 1225. Press Option 1 then Option 0 to speak to a visa specialist. (Do not waste your money calling the Embassy). They will tell you when your case was mailed and when your interview date is.

Also keep checking the Interview list (Currently they have April & May posted) to see when your interview is. Just type in the Case # that was printed on your NVC Notice (SDO2010...)

http://santodomingo....pointments.html

Your packet will be mailed by the mail service in Dominican Republic (Inposdom). Which may take forever. Just keep calling and checking the interview list. So people never receive it, so be proactive. If you have not received anything around 2 weeks before your interview, call the Embassy and schedule a day to pick it up before your interview. The medical cannot be done if you do not receive your appointment letter that comes inside of Packet 4. Also, there is no way to track your case online at this point. So keep calling and checking the interview list is your best options.

Financial Docs:

Once your NOA2 arrives, you need to complete the affidavit and get a letter from your current employer (stating you have a job with them and you make $$$ a year), also you need a letter from your bank (stating how much money you deposited in the past year), and also your 3 months of recent pay stubs and 3 years of tax returns.

Their are 2 affidavits (I-134 and I-864). The I-134 is very easy to complete and is usually needed for the K1 interview. The I-864 takes longer to complete and more evidence and its usually only needed for AOS but sometimes asked for during the K1 interview.

To be safe just do them both and prepare. When your fiance(e) gets her Interview Packet, it will tell you what form you need to bring. For now I would just complete them both and wait until 2 weeks before the interview date to get a letters from your employer and bank.

Also, your Dominican born fiance/fiancee needs to begin completing the forms (you can practice at this point and finalize later; they are available online), get their birth certificate (long version), passport photos, etc.

My fiancee and I did all of these things while waiting. Try not to drive yourself crazy. Just use this to prepare. Also gather all the evidence you will need for your interview (phone records, email, pics, travel documents, etc). The last thing my fiancee and I did was update our forms. She got her police report (30 days within interview date), reprinted visa forms, and I updated my income/employment documents.

I had everything done 2 months before the interview but had to get new letters (dates closer to the interview). Interviews are being scheduled much faster now...so you may have less time.

Thank you very much, i am the beneficiary dominican born, the thing is that she is coming for the summer to wait for the interview here with me, would she have to bring something with her or is there a way to ask for the bank letter while she is in the dominican? thank you for your detailed answer.

I highly recommend following the application through all the way to interview. My fiancee in Moscow has not even received the package. If I did not follow the process we would not even know the date of the interview
