Filing I130 petition for my Mother in Islamabad

So i am looking to file an I-130 for my mom. Myself, i am a naturilzed citizen of USA, and looking to file this petition from Dallas, Texas. Recently she applied for a visit visa, and that got rejected; so i have decided to go the route of filing a petition for her.

Can someone please tell me(from your experiences), how long is it taking for an approval if i file a petition for my mom, who is in Islamabad, Pakistan? Is it worth filing this petition or should i myself fly to Islamabad and try another visit visa for her.

The IR-5 has a much higher chance of being approved than a B2. There are far fewer discretionary factors the consular officer can use to deny an IR-5. Basically, you just need to prove she's your mother, she's not inadmissible, and you can support her.

It doesn't appear that there are any IR-5's in the VJ timeline database, so I don't know how long it will take. I'm guessing under a year from the time you file until the time she gets the visa, but that's just a guess.
