Santorum attacks Romney on healthcare

In a fundraising pitch emailed to supporters Tuesday, Santorum highlighted a recent Wall Street Journal editorial that harshly called Romney "Obama's Running Mate." Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator, has doggedly stayed on the attack while Romney defends the health care overhaul he enacted as Massachusetts governor.

The headline above sounds far-fetched -- but it comes directly from the Wall Street Journal. When you compare Barack Obama and Mitt Romney's health care plans, you'll see these two men’s policies have more in common than you think.

Mitt Romney has been spending the last week defending his failed "experiment" in government-run health care -- and based on news reports it hasn't been working. The same way that President Obama has been defending ObamaCare since its passage through Congress.

Thursday's Wall Street Journal discusses how RomneyCare was the first in the nation to introduce "individual mandates" (i.e. the government forcing you to buy insurance) and how health care in Massachusetts has gotten more expensive -- even more than the national average.

President Obama & former Governor Mitt Romney's policies both put government squarely at the center of your health decisions. But I believe more government is not the answer. And I'd be willing to bet you agree.

I believe we need to limit the size of government and return to a time when elected officials did what they thought was right -- not create "experiments" that drive up taxes and reduce the quality of life for our citizens.

I believe freedom from too much government is one of the most basic freedoms granted in our Constitution. And I think, frankly, elected officials should govern with their hearts as well as their minds.

I know most conservatives will agree with me. But my first challenge is to raise enough funds to get my message out to as many voters as possible.
