Question about NVC case number

Hi All,

USCIS already sent my package to NVC. When I called NVC, the AVR said that they don't have a record of my case yet. I called again to talk to an operator and the operator said that they have already received my package. However, it's not uploaded to the system yet, (so no NVC case number) and I can't give them my email address yet for correspondence. The operator mentioned that it takes 4-6 weeks to be in the system before I get an NVC case number.

Does it usually take that long to get an NVC case number?

I was looking at http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut#2._USCIS_Sends_Package_to_NVC and from my understanding from steps 4 and 5, that I can get the case number and also tell the operator of me and my spouse's email address even before the case info is manually inputed to the system.

It varies with each case. I got my info 13 business days after NOA2. (17 days total.) However, you can't give the operator any information until you get your NVC number. Keep calling, you /generally/ should be close to getting your case number.

me too we didnt get an NVC number yet and it has been 11days now

08/12/2010 received NOA1

09/05/2011 received NOA2

20/05/2011 Called the NVC get NVC number and gave our emails

21/05/2011 DS3032 email Sent /

23/05/2011 paid the AOS fee Bill

25/05/2011 AOS statut PAID

25/05/2011 Sent Request to clear the error in my name (ughhh)

27/05/2011 PAID the IV BILL -statut in process

28/05/2011 got the response for my request to modify the error in my name..== OK

31/05/2011 AOS Package sent via usps express

01/06/2011 IV bill statut " PAID "

03/06/2011 AOS Package received by NVC

03/06/2011 IV Package sent via usps express

05/06/2011 IV Package received by NVC

05/06/2011 fingers crossed

17/06/2011 second stupid FALSE RFE for missing DS230

24/06/2011 SIF SIF SIF SIF YES SIIIIF (Sign In Failed) and Case complete ( CC)

28/07/2011 medical passed===> OK

10/08/2011 interview date==>ok but there is a missing document

Just keep calling the NVC Auto voice recording and enter your USCIS case number every day..then one day you will not hear this case number can not be found at this time you will hear sooo many numbers being spoken...as soon as you hear that make it repeat and write them down then turn around and call back speak to an operator live....tell them your new case number and then ask them to load both petitioner and beneficiary emails into the system and ask for the IIN number (invoice) to be able to pay the online fees at the online portal...

It took less about 8 days for us but you have to be be vigilant....CALL EVERY DAY!!!!!! good luck!
