Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

First of all the lawyer's fees are typical for cases that need a 601 waiver--is that what was involved in your case--if so, you weren't overcharged based on the going rate, and $1000 for the IV and AOS is also pretty typical. That does not however give your lawyer the right to not communicate accurately and regulalry.

As far as filing a complaint with her local bar, it has to be something really bad before they will do anything, and not communicating is pretty low on the totem pole, so don't expect anything. If you really want to have an impact on future cases--it won't help you--do what they do at the immigrate2us website all the time--call out the crummy lawyer by name--or wait until your case is complete if you are concerend that she will do even less for you.

That happened to us!She was lying to us that she had sent everything to NVC,and after calling her a million times and also NVC,she admitted that she forget about our case, and apologize, plus when we asked for NVC case number she told us,that doesn't exist.Anyways, with Uscis case number we find out at NVC what was going on.She was our agent of choice so NVC emailed her everything that i need for the interview(july12th),she never announced me or my husband, and now she's in vacation for two weeks! It's just ridiculous,if we would not call NVC,maybe i could miss my interview just because she's dind't say a word!!!

I hope things are better for you at this time,Goodluck!!!!!!!!!
