N-400 Question

I hope that you are all doing well. I am about to send my N-400 application out on Saturday or Monday. I have a question and i will be glad if i could get an answer. I received my certified copies from IRS yesterday and it seems for each year is enclosed in a different envelope. Should i open them or am i supposed to send them as they are? that is in the enclosed envelopes? You all have a good day.

I'd suggest you open he envelopes and make copies of the transcripts and send the copies with your N-400 application. Keep the originals in a safe place and bring them with you to your interview just in case your interviewer wants to see the originals.

You may tee off your application examiner if you force him to open those envelops. Ditto to only sending in copies. Also keep all of your originals in an identical stack to bring those in.

I enclosed my originals. Had copies in my personal file but never needed to show them. The I.O. just wants to see that you filed your annual tax return every year, as married, if you apply based on the 3-year rule.
