Jiayang's visa was approved on the 12th and since then she has been going to the post office in Guangzhou every day waiting for her passport to be returned to her. This morning she told me that approximately 400 people are waiting at the post office everyday from 0800 until 1200/noon. So far no luck on getting her passport and visa. Can anyone tell me what the approximate wait time is for this step?

On another subject, can anyone advise of a reliable and cost effective company to ship some of her larger items from China to the US? Thanks for the help.

at the EMS desk just outside the IV office, she was to fill out an EMS form.

there was a tracking # on that form. Input the tracking # into the EMS tracking system at http://www.ems.com.cn/english-main.jsp

but even then, it's usually 24 to 48 hours off.

I tell people to contact DoS Hotline, inquire for casefile status - Usually can learn of any problems after interview day, via the DoS Hotline, as well as the 'visa packet ship date' see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/ - Dodi's posted how to call, and further down, I've posted what you can get, and from whom.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
