Hi all-

I'm new here and am trying to read as much as I can. But could anyone explain to me what are the steps to follow through after getting NOA2? I read that there're Packet 3 and packet 4. What are they? Are all the below documents required for the final interview? (I found them in the step by step guide and realized that we didn't save a copy of the I-129F we sent out. And we thought I-134 would only be required for Ajustment of Status?) Thanks!!!

1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Not required for the interview, nevertheless, there is a common understanding that it's good to have it. All in all the embassy should receive your petition from the NVC.

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

What your fiance will need from you is your birth certificate (or certified copy), I-134 with supporting evidence and you shoudl work togetehr to gather the proof of ongoing relationship and updated letter of intent.

3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

Yes, she will need your letter of intent.

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

yep. you need it. It's one of the most important things you need to put together for the interview.

yep. All that is essential.

6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

Essential. Although they should have it.

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

yep and anything else you can think of that will confirm that your relationship is true and real.

Good Luck!

As beneficiary, I understood that it is just my passport, birth cert, marriage cert if applicable, evidence of ongoing relationship (different to evidence of having met within last 2 yrs as sent with I-129F), my police cert, petitioner's I-134 plus supporting docs. I have picked up from VJ that updated Letter of Intent from both parties is recommended. This is just for the interview following reply to Packet 3 which is DS230, Ds156, passport photos etc. So is it really necessary to get copy of birth cert from my fiance and does it have to be the original?

This is how I see it:

The copy of the I-129F is also important for the beneficiary, so he/she can read it and prepare before the interview. Its important for her to know the things you wrote like how you met and all and also your G-325A data any of which can be a possible question at the interview.

You want her/him to be able to pull out any supporting original evidence that may support any question, so I am going to organize it in a notebook with folder dividers and tabs so she has all the ammunition for the interview and can pull it out in an instant.

From the US fiance you don't need originals because all that was handled at USCIS. The copies of all that should have been with the I-129F package that he sent you.

NOA1 - 12/21/15

NOA2 - 04/18/16

AOS, IV PAID - 05/27/16

DS260 done - 06/10/16

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

If you really want it, you'll find a way!

I wondered the same thing too. I'm in the same situation. I applied and my fiancé is in Taipei. I just got the NOA2 as well.

Is she suppose to call the embassy in Taipei? Or will they send something to her?

I went to see her in February. Will it be helpful to use MY boarding passes, itinerary for proof?

Also I need my police record and birth certificate to give to her?

Thanks everyone.
