Just an update. Since I didn't want to call today my fiance called said he was on hold for half an hour today and the lady he spoke to was very nice. She told him we are on the list of not yet scheduled, and the list i very long for interviews right now. She did tell him she felt we would be looking at our interview sometime in November, so here's hoping that happens.

I got my letter Packet 4 three weeks before the interview.

Thanks that is good to know, I hate that I check my mail at noon so I can see if I have any news. I sure hate that I am wishing my life away so we can be together.

I was also on hold for a long time today, Monday's must be their busy day. I had another question, but like always I inquired about the interview wait time and was told 2 months from receipt of checklist, so November is probably right Leafgal, but here's hoping it's sooner!

My fiancee is calling again on Friday. She was going to call tomorrow but she has a new job that she won't be able to do that with. Leafgal, I'm glad they said November for you since she sent her list in a couple of days after you, and we're hoping for a December wedding.

On a side note, will Packet 4 have instructions about a second letter of intent, or can I send that to her and say I am still willing and able to marry her?

Don't know about packet 4, but my finance sent me a letter with his documents for me for packet 3. Well I will post as soon as I get my packet 4 to let you know what the date is.

This is such a roller-coaster ride! But at least I'm not alone. I just wonder why the government makes us all jump through these hoops? Just because the person I fell in love with was born in another country (that borders the one I live in!) why do we have to be treated like this?

And talk about unfair - if they mail us the appointment letter 3 weeks before the interview . . . talk about an expensive plane trip! Don't they realize that you can't use Airmiles that quickly! My husband is in Newfoundland and I'm in Florida! Talk about expensive filghts to/from Montreal!!!!

Yes you are right about expensive flights but with any luck there will be some sort of flights you can get cheaper. I know for me to go from Toronto to Montreal I will be taking the train as it is much cheaper than flying. Best of luck once the time gets here.

Okay, I am lost here. Sounds like you guys are waiting the embassy itself. NVC tells us they will make our appointment, and this is done the 2nd week of every month for the following month. I am so confused. They told me we would know something by the 16th of october if we are scheduled. Well, we could call then and find out. We have been married 4 years. you can look at our timeline. I am so confused

hi guys.....quess i am in the same boat...waiting for the pkg 4 to arrive....i mailed pkg 3 on the 19th of sept....if it is 2 months from reciept of pkg 3...that would be great....i walk by the embassy every morning on my way to work....in montreal. i'm only a couple of streets away....i get these wierd itches to go right on in....ask a few questions...lol....well..i wish you all the best of luck...and for a speedy interview date......good luck to all

Looks like you are a IR1 and not a k3. The embassy sets the K visa's and the NVC sets the CR1 and IR1 visa. Make sense.

NVC does not make the appointment for K visas. I called and they said the consulate will do that.
