Hi,

We just received our NO2 and now we are preparing each other for the next steps.

My girlfriend, who is American, will fill the affidavit of support.

She's been unemployed over the last 6 years, raising her child. Would large savings of 150k be sufficient to sponsor me, even without any income ?

I went through the forum and tried to get information, I just need a confirmation that it should be ok.

Thx in advance.

Do you mean your NOA1? Usually you need to fill out a affadavit of support before being approved for NOA2. I believe you need some kind of income, but not absolutely sure. Here is some info on the subject. Hopefully someone else here can help further.

Yes, $150,000 will be enough. She must show 3 times the income requirement in assets. Her family size will be THREE.

This is incorrect. The Affidavit of Support comes at the interview stage, which is after the NOA2 approval.

Thx, then that should work for us !!

If the money is in a liquid asset, like a bank account or investments, you should be fine. If not liquid, please elaborate.
