Hi,

I was wondering if while the AOS from K-1 is pending, It is possible to attend job interviews to try to reduce the time between receiving the EAD and starting to work legally. Did anyone managed to do this with success or you waited for the EAD to start attending interviews?

Thank you

You can attend interviews but you aren't allowed to work until you have your EAD. Good luck.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

I personally wouldn't attend an interview until you have the EAD, or at least a notification that it's coming. Because it can take 2 months and you don't want to apply for the job of your dreams just to find out you can't accept the position or they won't wait for you. Some of them won't even bother with you if you tell them you are NOT work eligible yet. It's a complete waste of their time.

Yea that's a good point too, this is why I won't do that immediately but I'd play a bit my cards and wait 3 or 4 weeks after sending the package to avoid being selected and then rejected due to an eventual delay in the issue of the EAD.
