I think they handle a lot of cases. I'm not sure why some filers in later months are getting approved before filers in earlier months.

I know I got an email saying they ordered production of the GC on the 11th and have seen some people get theirs in a few days on the December thread. I'm rather impatient to get the card in the mail.

Yes i see people from Oct still awaiting approval, i am not too good at the waiting game, nails are gone long ago, would be nice to be given a reason, like, sorry for slow progress but we are short staffed ect. just frustrated.

I read on another thread it may be due to earlier expiration dates on the green cards. Can't work that out though.

I sent my application in during the last week that my card expired, due to finacial difficulties, but i wouldnt expect or want to be put in front of someone applying earlier, would be nice to know how VSC chooses who to process when and why.

My cynical nature says they put the thick files at the bottom of the pile. I was actually surprised that ours was approved within 5 months. I expected a longer wait. When did you file? When did you get your biometrics?

Wow, that's quite a wait for biometrics compared to ours. The biometrics appt. was 1 month and 10 days after mailing the package. The notice came 19 days after mailing it. They must have really slowed down? I'll have a look at the Feb filers...

But the AOS was a nightmare in terms of time. There was a RFE that we never received and luckily called and it was sent out again. It put a big delay on that. Have you called?

I called after 30+ days was told that i will be hearing from them shortly

My AOS was eventually transferred to CSC and was sorted in a week or two.

Here is the link http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/16/world/americas/16immig.html?_r=2

I think this is the reason, I happened to search on the internet. I remember my friends filed with VSC in summer 2010 got approved within 3 - 4 months.

Also in 2007 - there was a huge spike in all immigrant visa applications when they put the fees up and hundreds of thousands of people applied in a rush to beat the fees. I remember a news report saying there were a million more applications that year than usual.

For fiance and spousal visa that meant a huge backlog - much much worse than the waiting time today - and VSC was the WORST.

We waited over 90 days just to get our NOA1 - and our NOA2 took over ten months and was only processed when VSC finally gave in and sent a bunch of files to CSC for processing.

So those of us in that backlog and big surge in applications all entered the US 2008-2009 and are all now removing conditions in 2010 / 2011 which I think is possibly also why they are again so slow for our particular applications.

I have been worried about one thing after filing!!

Under some circumstances I am having to move from the apartment I currently live in, my mom is a little sick so I have to be with her!

I will be moving in June and wanted to know how I should sort the mail situation!

If I move and fill out the AR-11 online will it go in affect immediately??? I am really worried about not getting my documents on the right address! HELP!!
