Therefore, I see a landslide win for the Democrats next year, even though many liberals and minorities have been disenfranchised by Mr. Obama.

All it takes is an ounce of common sense to see that the best chance Obama has is a +1 to 2% win....He beat McCain (100-something old white man) that has little to no attraction for voters by a mere 7% popular vote. And this was at a time where Obama was worshiped by the media and his fan base.

People are a lot less impressed with Obama now. The economy is still in the tubes. Not much has changed.

Finally, did you pay attention to the mid-term elections? Last time I checked there were historic wins for the GOP. It is a slight clue as to what will happen in '12.

Certainly not Huckabee (oh yeah, count me in for the Religious nutjob )I am simply saying that in May 1991 George HW Bush was so hugely popular after winning the first Gulf War that it appreared, even well into 1992, that it was not even possible for anyone to challenge him for re-election. Clinton was unheard of and, in fact, could not possibly have won if H. Ross Perot had not been such a powerful spoiler.

Romney's problem isn't Mormonism, it's trying to get through the Iowa & South Carolina with his MA record on "Romneycare". I don't think he's a joke candidate though, unlike the others in your list who deserve the 's. Romney is raising serious campaign cash, has an organized grassroots staff, and there's plenty of time between now and Feb to go gladhanding in Iowa and NH and convince voters that he's the best shot at unseating Obama, which he is.

I think also that if Mitch Daniels gets into the race he'll be a very credible candidate with a lot of appeal to independents. Heck, I'd seriously consider voting for Daniels. Hes the complete antithesis of the Palin/Trump/Bachmann type of blowhard: just a down to earth technical policy wonk.
