the ds-3032 and ds-230 are the foreign spouse's documents, not the USCitizens.

However, the USCitizen can assist with filling out said documents, but it's the Foreign Spouse who must sign.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

IMO, better is 'relative' based on time and timing.

What's better for your particular casefile may not be better for others, just too many variances, IMO, even though the forms are the same.

If you wish some speed at NVC, then by all means have the foreign spouse appoint the USCitizen spouse as the 'Agent of Choice' and follow LingChe's NVC shortcuts on the VJ Wiki.

Hi..i apassed this step 2 months ago when i got approved, and transferred to NVC after a week i called and do 2 things i take my NVC case no. from ther and IN ( isdentification no) and give them my email and my husband email..my husband is the US citizen and i'm the beneficiary..ok

then immediatly i sent the DS3032 choise of agent by mail, i choose my husband to be my agent (http://www.visajourn...il_DS-3032_form) but Ds230 i write it by my hand and send it to my husband with the rest of IV documents.

Here's a step-by-step guide:

-get case number, invoice identification number from operator and give email addresses over

-email DS-3032 (http://www.visajourn...il_DS-3032_form)

sign in https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/Signon.aspx?node=Signin by ur numbers

-when AOS appears as INVOICED on payment portal, pay it

-when AOS appears as PAID, print the bar-coded coversheet and send the AOS package

-when IV appears as INVOICED on payment portal, pay it

-when IV appears as PAID, print the bar-coded coversheet and send the IV package

-wait for SIF and CC

Hi marymina119,

I don't think it makes a difference if your spouse or relative is assigned as your agent. It gives you both a copy of whatever correspondence is to be received. Your relative can assist you or not. You can opt to hire an attorney and you aren't penalized for that. The interview will determine if you comprehend what has happened up to that point and if you and your relative can communicate with each other. So, my two cents is, I don't think it matters. I hope that helps.
