Good morning and happy Tuesday!

I found your group and I need some feedback as we are going stir-crazy over here waiting for some news. I spent the last hour and a quarter reading the march filers board and I want to know how many people haven't even received anything other than the NOA's for AOS?

BG: My husband is Peruvian and came in on an F-1 visa that was changed to a J-1 in 2009. We met in Feb 2009 and married in september 2009 at the courthouse. His J-1 went out of status mid 2009 due to working and cost of tuition. Anyway, we talked about filing for AOS in October 2009 but could not get money together until March 2011. We had a baby in June 2010 so money was very tight. Anyway, we sent off our packet FINALLY on Feb 28 but our priority date is 3/3/11. We received the NOA's for I485, I130 and I865 that day. Since then, NOTHING!!!!!

No touches on our account status online, no RFE's, no biometric letter! NADA!

It seems like nearly everyone has either received a biometric letter, had their appointment and even gotten their EAD in hand already. Please tell me that someone else is in our shoes and that we are not victims of lost paperwork or something. Our NOA letters said that after sending to Chicago lockbox that it was transferred to Nation Benefits Center for processing.

The processing time according to the website for EAD filed concurrent with AOS packet is three months and well June 3 will be that three months and were sitting nervous over here.

Thanks for reading. Any advice, opines, horror stories, or valium appreciated! Okay, no valium because though our nerves are frayed we don't take drugs! LOL.

You can call USCIS and ask for a service request for the biometrics - but it's possible that your local office is extremely backlogged. This has been happening recently in Texas, do you happen to live there? Besides that, no news is normal. Good luck.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thanks for the reply. No, we are not in Texas. We are in Maryland. What is a service request? Is that like a customer service ticket? :D

On your NOA1 it will say something like "If you do not receive your biometrics notice within 30 days, please call the customer service hotline at XXXXXXX." Call that number and follow the prompts for either service request or no biometrics appointment or whatever it says (sorry, haven't been on that line in a while, so I forget the exact choices but it should be fairly obvious). The person on the other end will submit a "service request" to get your biometrics appointment mailed out, if there are openings at your local office.

Remember that this hotline is not USCIS employees, but rather a call center with people who read from a script. Be patient but firm with them and don't take what they say too seriously, because they often make mistakes (which is a huge problem with the system, but anyway...) Generating a request for biometrics should be simple enough. Good luck.
