I was wondering if anyone had information for me regarding the K 1 Fiance Visa and packet 3 and packet 4. Yesterday my fiancee went to the United States Embassy in New Delhi to submit packet 3 for the K-1 visa. The guards told her to go to AREA 1 of the immigrant visa section, upon her arrival at area 1 the guy at the counter said to put your packet 3 in the envelope and we will send it to the department which handles processing packet 3. My question is how long does it take once packet 3 is submitted to recieve packet 4. Can I send an email asking them to quickly schedule an interview becaus e I have sent my fiancee all the required documents. If there is any information out there regarding packet 4 and how long it takes to get an interview after packet 3 is submitted I would really appreciate it. Thanks

*** not an IR-1/CR-1 visa topic, moving to Embassy forum ***

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I don't know how ong it takes in India but no you should not send an email requesting an earlier interview. You have to wait like everyone else does. They have to go through all the packet 3 first and then your fiancee will be notified or you get notice t make an interview date not sure how it works in that country.

I am not sure how long it take for New Delhi, but the Mumbai consulate sent me my appointment letter by email 3 working days after they received my packet 3 documents. The actual packet 4 came by postal mail about one week later. If you have checked the email option you should know much earlier, assuming Delhi is as fast as Mumbai in this. Good Luck!

Did you submit packet 3 in person or did you email it to the consulate through vfs
