Case done now what?

I'm here preparing with my wife wedding ceremony in china. I called NVC today and the person said that my case appear to be completed, but NVC was unable to give an interview date because June in Guz is full and to call back in June 17 for a possible interview date in July. I tried to sign in the payment website and I received a SIF (sign in failed) so I guess that's a good news.

So now do we wait for a packet of some kind to get ready for her medical checkup or do we wait to hear for an interview notices letter in my case email?

And what's the next hotline I need to call and bug about my casefile. (DOS?

you did EP at NVC, right?

Pay no attention to anything that smells of conjecture, from the NVC TeleOperators.

Here's yer next steps.

Final Review (2 to 10 days)

Interview Scheduling (1 to 3 days)

these 2 queues are special, unique and hidden for EP cases headed to Guangzhou - usually the front-line NVC TeleOperator is CLUELESS about EP, and instead quotes things that they NORMALLY say about scheduling. It doesn't matter what they say about it, unless they specifically reference EP. Normally, they won't reference EP.

So, hang in there - when you call back, you want to know

--start of final review

--status of final review

--final review completion date

If you not get any 'checklist letter response' back from NVC, then scheduling will occur 1 to 3 days AFTER the final review is completed. An end result is that the appointment letter is emailed out to both of you. Once SHE has the appointment letter , she is to print it out, take it to the medical exam.

Finally, GUZ IV does not schedule this type of appointment, NVC does. And they're pretty quick about it, once final review is completed.

Sorta, but skewed, let me untwist?

Final Review is next, then NVC will set the appointment date, at the same time the casefile is transmitted electronically via SAFEFILE.

GUZ IV not assign an interview, at all, for an EP case - NVC assigns the interview date.

In a 'paper case' what you've described is correct - there is 2 to 5 month span between

Good day today, it's our wedding day 5/20/11 at it's 11:40am and me and my wife just received a email interview letter packet 4. I spilled juice on her day dress for the wedding but I think getting this interview made it better.

Now I have to figure out how to stay here longer. My visa expires in June 12 because I came here in China on May 12th.

How do I get my visa renew here in China?

I want to stay for her interview on June 15 and hopefully we can both leave China together after that.

visa expires? or the entry stamp thingie/duration expires?

you have a multi-entry visa, or a single entry visa, or something elses?

if visa is multi-entry, and it expires on june 12, that's the last day you can ENTER the country. Usually, if you enter on June 11, you get 30 day duration stamp, as the 'date' is the last day you can enter the country. Suggest a nice boat ride from Guangzhou to Hong Kong, a week prior, if indeed you have a multi-entry visa, get a new duration stamp prior to the 12th.

if you have a single entry, most ppl find it easier to go to hong kong, purchase a new china visa , then come in.

it'll take 2 days, but

I know nothing about 'visa extension' in China - can you visit the big PSB in your area to find out ?

My visa expires on May 18th, but I enter on May 12th so I have 30days duration period I can stay in China which the last day would be June 12th. 3 Days shy of my wife interview date which I plan somehow to be there, right now I am trying to figure out a way.

I think you suggest that I go to Hong Kong and get a new Chinese Visa to re-enter Mainland china. During my process of getting that visa I would need to stay there at least 2 days.

So visa expire and duration period expires.

Is this correct Darnell?

It looks like you will need to go to HK and obtain a new entry visa for the Mainland since the last entry date has passed and your time of authorized stay will end prior to the interview date. From what Darnell said (and he will clarify), you will have a 2 day stay in HK before your new entry visa to the Mainland is ready.

OK - Now I understand. You have a Multiple Entry Visa that expires on May 18th.

IMO, you have 2 options -

--get an extension at the big PSB where she resides or

--go to HKG and get a new visa. Prepare to be there at least 2 days. Since you are coming off the end of an existing visa, this may get you some extra scrutiny, as the Visa Office has been cracking down on 'illegal workers in China' for some time, starting about 3 months before the Olympics. There's some rumour that it's 'not so bad' this year, compared to prior.

Got it,

Me and my wife went to day at her local PSB office. I don't know if I-130 paper work or getting a new visa in China is hard, but dam we needed to get this and get that to get a paper work that says I need another paper work, stupid....

For future people who might be in my case. These are the requirements if you need to get a new visa if you are married to a local Chinese girl and that your visa has expire or will expire and would like to stay longer.

In my case my visa expire 3 days before my wife future interview date on the 15th June.

Need:

Her place of residents document- in this case her parent's deed or mortgage to their apartment which I and currently staying.

Go to the Police station to get a pieces of paper that says I am a foreigner alien staying at this location(home/hotel)

Get a doctor examine of some kind don't know yet, probably for STD, blood work up, and to check if I'm male or what. Get that doctor paper

Go the the PSB and turn in my application for Visa (Visiting Relatives) which this will extend my station for a whole year instead of my 30 days stay allowed in China. Of course I can't stay a whole year, but what ever.

I guess for me this beats going to Hong Kong and pay for the trip there for 2 people.

Yup, it is better, but

I think yer applying for a temporary residency permit - is special category on that for foreign spouse of PRC person, can only get them IN China. If it's under 1000 RMB or even 2000 RMB on the fees, I say get it.
