Tourist visa to call parents

Hello All,

I am on F-1 visa and I am about to graduate within a month. I have already applied for my OPT and expect to get it within 2 months. I wanted to call my parents here. I went through this link : http://www.visajourney.com/content/visitor-visa-guide .

I just had two more questions:

1) Do I need to send a letter from the International Student Center stating that I will be graduating?

2) What other documents are required to be presented by my parents apart from the passport,DS-160 form? Are bank statements proving sufficiency of funds required?

Thanks in advance!

Your parents will apply for tourist visas at the US embassy and show strong ties to home. You can send them a invitation to your graduation, but there isn't anything that you can do to help them get a visa.

You can send the letter from International office stating you are graduating, that would give them a strong reason to visit US.

They will also have to show their bank statements, any property, business holding etc. in their home country.

They have to show that they would return back to their home country and they are only visiting US for graduation.
