Hi there, I sent the AOS package for my wife about 3 weeks ago, it was received about 3 days later (may 5 to be exact at the Chicago lock box).

Up till this very moment they have not cashed the check and we have not received any form of electronic or paper confirmation of receipt.

I called today and was told to wait 30days before they can tell me what to do.

My question are: 1, Is this normal time frame?

2, what can I do now that it seems they have lost our file?

Thanks in advance for your responses?

Yes, there seems to be a lot of applications that have taken over 30 days before it was acknowledged by USCIS. Hang in there

You are not the only person sending in an application, you must remember they are getting thousands a day.

They have to get through all thousand other ones that came in before may 5th before they find yours.

I'm sure they didn't lose your packet. I know that reading all those scary stories about USCIS makes us all very anxious if we don't get an immediate response, but they will get to your case and put in their system. May 10 days, two weeks isn't really that much, considering that many applicants haven't heard anything from USCIS for 30 days or more.
