I will soon begin this process and was reading over the Guides on how to file for AOS and had some questions that I'm sure you can help me with.

1. Just wanted to verify, if I file AOS their is no additional cost when also filing AP and EAD?

2. I have to fill out another G325a form and the Affadavit of Support?

3. I'm not sure about the medical requirement. Am I required or not required? Confused about this.

4. Will I need to send any proof (other than the marriage certificate) that we are married such as pics of the wedding?

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes

2. Yes

3. You do not need another medical since you had one for the K-1 in your home country. You need the vaccination sheet copy that you got from your immigration medical and include that in the AOS. If you did not get one, you have to go see a civil surgeon and have them fill out the vaccination portion. They will seal it and stamp it, do not open it, include this in the AOS package.

4. You do not need to send any extra proof aside from the marriage certificate. But you may if you wish.

- We sent a bunch of evidence with our AOS. Made us feel better to include a little more than just the marriage cert.

Our medical was sent directly to the consular and neither did we request to make copies of them. When would we receive a copy? How are we going to prove he received vaccinations? Also, I had a co-sponsor, would the same guidelines apply to AOS?

Most people don't get a copy of the full medical. What they usually get is a DS-3025 form, which contains a list of the vaccinations received. If the DS-3025 is marked "complete" then you don't usually need to see a civil surgeon. You just send the DS-3025 with the AOS packet. If it's marked "incomplete" for any reason, then you usually need to see a civil surgeon to get the vaccinations transcribed to an I-693, and also to receive any missing vaccinations. If you don't have the DS-3025 then you'll likely need to see a civil surgeon and repeat all necessary vaccinations.

Notice I used the words "usually" and "likely" in the above paragraph. That's because what I described is the way that it's supposed to work, and often the way it does work - but not always. For some unknown reason, medical results often get lost somewhere between the consulate and USCIS. Sometimes they aren't included in the sealed envelope you hand to the immigration officer at the port of entry. More often, they are included in the sealed envelope, and just don't end up in the immigrant's file at USCIS. In spite of having already had a medical exam by a panel physician abroad, too many people receive RFE's for a full medical report. There are two schools of thought about how to handle this. One is to get your elected officials involved and put pressure on USCIS until they find your medical results - or they don't. The other is to get the civil surgeon to do a complete medical, and fill out every section of the I-693.

Yep you would have gotten the copy of it at the medical, just the vaccination part not the rest of it.

If you had to have a co-sponsor and you still do not make 125% of the poverty line then yes you need a co-sponsor again for the AOS.
