Anyone had any luck with a biometrics walk-in in Brooklyn?

We got our biometrics appointment letter the other day, and it's scheduled for June 3. I read about so many people successfully doing walk-ins instead of waiting for their appointment, so I thought it was worth asking if anyone here has ever done this at the Brooklyn NY office (1260-1278 60th Street)?

K-1:
April 21, 2010: I-129F Sent (from London to VSC)
April 27, 2010: NOA1, check cashed
July 9, 2010: NOA2 (hardcopy)
July 12, 2010: NVC sent petition to embassy in London
October 7, 2010: Packet 3 logged at embassy
November 3, 2010: Interview: APPROVED!
December 7, 2010: POE: JFK
December 10, 2010: Wedding

AOS:
April 27, 2011: Sent I-485, I-864, EAD and AP to Chicago
May 5, 2011: Received text notifications, check cashed
May 9, 2011: NOA hardcopy via mail
May 14, 2011: RFE (for incorrectly filling out I-693)
June 3, 2011: Biometrics
June 17, 2011: RFE response delivered
June 21, 2011: Case under RFE review
June 23, 2011: Transferred to CSC!
June 29, 2011: EAD and AP approved!
July 9, 2011: EAD/AP card arrived via mail
January 4, 2012: RFE
January 28, 2012: RFE response delivered
January 30, 2012: Case under RFE review
February 8, 2012: Green card in production!
February 14, 2012: Green card received in mail

ROC:

December 4, 2013: Sent I-751 to Vermont Service Center

December 9, 2013: NOA1

January 13, 2014: Biometrics

May 15, 2014: Green card in production!

The worst thing that happens is that the ASC is too busy that day and you can't get them done. Go ahead and try.

Tried and failed - twice. But I have also heard of others who have succeeded.. So I'd say it is a hit-and-miss. They told me that morning is not a good time to try, best is early afternoon apparently, but I wasn't allowed to do it neither first thing in the morning nor around 2pm. It will depend a lot on how many people they will have scheduled for that day. I did end up doing a walk in at a Manhattan location - but to be honest, I don't think it made any difference in terms of getting my EAD/AP, so I'm not sure if it will be worth the hassle.

05/12/2011 - Day 70 - EAD Arrived, issued on 05/02

06/14/2011 - Day 103 - E-mail notice: Interview letter mailed, interview scheduled for July 20th

07/20/2011 - Day 139 - Interview at Federal Plaza USCIS location

07/22/2011 - Day 141 - E-mail approval notice received (Card production)

07/27/2011 - Day 146 - 2nd Card Production Email received

07/28/2011 - Day 147 - Post-Decision Activity Email from USCIS

08/04/2011 - Day 154 - Husband returns home from abroad; Welcome Letter and GC have arrived in the mail

("Resident since" date on the GC is 07/20/2011

Ah, thanks for the input... maybe it's better to just wait for our appointment. That place looks to be out in the wilds, at least from Google street view!
