Hello all, I have a question concerning my approved petition. So we received the NOA2 on May 7th. I have been calling NVC to see if they received so I could get my case number. After reading many timelines where the NVC received the file in about 4-5 days I decided to call Vermont to see if it had been sent. The USCIS asked me to look on my form I-797. Sure enough , it is telling me that my approved petition was forwarded to the listed consulate in RIO. My question--Does this mean that my petition will not be going to NVC? Does anyone have information to chare? Thanks

Hi, Your case was forwarded to NVC like everyone else. You can begin to call NVC to see if your case has arrived and they will give you a new case number.

Yea, some NOAs say that but your case was really sent to NVC and THEY will forward it to RIO. Don't worry, just call the visa specialist to get your case number. It was probably sent to your consulate already.

Oh! and try calling several times if you don't get an answer. Sometimes they tell you different things, so keep calling until you are sure you have the information you wanted.

Good luck! Things speed up now!

I guess the timeframes from other timelines has a way of throwing me off. What the info7 days for some people will take 50 days for others. Crazy process.. Thanks for all

Hi guys,

Our hardcopy said the same thing. But, it definitely goes to NVC first. You can look at our timeline to get an estimate.

Rio will also mail a letter with your case number and asks that you present this letter on your interview date. And then they just refer you to the website to follow the directions. Here is the link.

Good luck and email us with any questions, be glad to answer if we can..
