Which Address to use for Montreal Consulate

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share my experience with you with the hope that it will help someone else avoid my mistake...

I went to the DHL office in London Ontario to mail my pkt 3 in March 2011. I was pretty confident that I should sent my documents to 315 Place d'Youville Suite 500. However, the staff at the DHL office insisted that I send pkt 3 to the physical address of the Consulate at 1155 rue Saint-Alexandre. I took their advice and mailed it to the physical address of the Consulate. My tracking number showed that the package was delivered and signed for at the Consulate. I called DoS every day for about a month but pkt3 was never logged. I resent all my documents via Canada Post to 315 Place d'Youville Suite 500. About 2 weeks later the package was logged and I received pkt 4 shortly afterwards. So my advice is as follows...

1. Send pkt to 315 Place d'Youville Suite 500

2. You do NOT have to use DHL and Canada Post works just fine.

I am now worried. Cuz I sent my passport using DHL and which was delivered to the physical address. DOS always says it is not logged yet. Mailing IV unit of montreal did not help. Does it mean that my passport is lost (as it is more than 2 months now) and do I need to send a new passport to them?

I'm not sure why you needed to send your passport to the Consulate. If you meant that you sent pkt 3 to the physical address of the Consulate, I don't think it will get there. Mine was delivered and signed for at the physical address but it never got logged. I resent everything to the mailing address and it was logged within 2 weeks.

Odd. I mailed my Packet 3 directly to the physical address of the consulate and had no problems.

They changed the address from the physical address of the consulate to the new address around January but they were still forwarding the mail in February. Therefore if you sent pkt 3 in February, it still would have got there. At least that is what I have heard.

I used DHL and they also used the physical address of Montreal Consulate...it's been a week (the package was delivered and signed according to tracking#) and DOS said Montreal still has not logged packet 3....

I'm suspecting mail is no longer forwarded to the proper address anymore...

great.... I guess I should re-send to the 315 place d'Youville, Suite 500

Another week wasted... we already wasted several weeks waiting for packet 3 to be sent to us but it never arrived!!

sigh... when is this process ever going to end??
