I just picked up my interview package from the Embassy in Costa Rica. Since I am using a cosponsor who owns his own business, they specifically and clearly require from me and my cosponsor the form I-864 not form I-134. I asked about the I-134 and they said that the form I-864 is what this embassy requires from me at the interview. I am sure we are not interviewing for th I130 because I have not received or sent any further forms for the I130.

I am not posting this to argue FAM rules but to only inform y'all of my own experience at the conof in Costa Rica. For anyone who has a similar situation, I would strongly suggest contacting the embassy at which your interview will take place.

Good luck and God Bless,

Chris

The embassies and consulates can request either form, fortunately the I-864 uses the same supporting documentation.

Also see the guides, under the heading: What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2): It mentions that either can be requested.

Personally I would rather use the I-864, the instructions are easier to follow, and the signature needs not be notarized.

YuandDan, I think you've missed the debate about it: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...c=29077&hl=

Ahh I see!

Then I would just have both forms filled out and submitted together.

Chris,

Thanks for that information.

Let us know how things go at the interview - do you have a date yet?

I am also interexted in reading what happens at the interview as far as documentation. As was said in another of your threads, please also post the details in the Embassy Info section at the top of the page once interview is held.

All the best for the interview
