couple questions...

Question 1- i filed for my wife who is in india and our " date" is January 30th, as of may 15th i have only gotten the noa 1. when should i recieve the noa2..

also, just now only i read forums stating there is a thing called as CONDITIONAL permanent residency once the visa is granted and she comes to the usa...what does that mean? will she be able to work? is it a different green card...or does it say conditional or something...someone if possible answer these questions and help me out..

Hi!

I think your NOA2 should happen any time now. Have patience. Conditional Permanent Residency is given to marriages which are less than 2 yrs old. Your wife gets to work on that just like any other Permanent Resident. You will have to file another application to remove the conditional status before you complete 2 yrs of your wedding or else the Green Card stands null and void.

2011-07-19 I-130 Approved

2011-08-01 NVC Received

2011-09-19 Receive Instruction Package

2011-09-30 Case Completed at NVC

2011-10-19 Applied to expedite case

2011-10-31 Consulate Received

2011-11-29 Interview Date

Probably about 5-6 months for NOA2.

Conditional greencard is if you are married under two years when she enters the USA. She will be able to work and do everything a 10 year greencard holder can do, but after 2 years, will need to remove conditions (ROC), which is an extra expense, and at that time, prove you are still married (there are exceptions to the still married bit, but hopefully that won;t apply to you!).

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

ALSO IF THUS FAR ANY REQUEST FOR INFORMATION HAS NOT ARRIVED, DOES THAT MEAN EVERYTHING IS FINE AND OK?
