so we got our noa 2 approved 11 days ago "may 6th" and nvc did not receive our petition yet, so i decided to call uscis on 1800-375-5283

i got to speak with a nice lady, she told me that k1 visas does not go through nvc but that it goes straight to the embassy is this true ? i could have sworn that i read somewhere that it does ?

My NOA2 says, "we have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center (NVC)." It also says, "The NVC now processes all approved fiance(e) petitions." The date on my NOA2 is February 4, 2011 so it is fairly recent. I would keep calling NVC every day to check on the status and get your NVC case number. My petition was only at NVC for a few days. Good luck!

they probably just said the wrong thing

all petitions go through NVC, when u called USCIS did u call a service center?

they dont know alot at tier 1

call NVC directly it can take a while for the case to get into NVC's system

the only to way to know for sure if your case somehow bypassed NVC is to call the State Department and speak to a visa specialist, they can tell u if your petition has been sent to the embassy.

i just think they are being slow at NVC

Mine definately went to the nvc....but was only there a day, so unless they changed things since i got mine they should be going through the nvc

you know what nvc does?just gives you a new case number, nothing more,so dont worry about it as long as you have your noa2 and new case number,if you dont have the case number i suggest you call nvc and see if they have any information on your case entering and exiting nvc

what does NVC say about your petition?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
