Short Relationship. Bona Fide?

Hi All,

My fiance and I have known each other only about two months (one month online before meeting), and we are genuinely in love. We will have a civil wedding in the Philippines at the end of this month, and a ceremonial wedding in December. I've known members of her family for years, though, and we were introduced through her cousin. We'll have reception after the civil wedding, but only her family will be there. We have chatted and sent email every day either on Facebook or Skype. I visited her last month. None of my family has met her in person. Here's what I'm thinking I will provide:

Marriage certificate

Boarding passes / Visa stamp from last month's trip and this coming trip

Receipt for wedding bands and engagement ring > 2000 USD

Pictures of us together in the last trip

Pictures of the civil wedding and reception

Receipts from the reception venue and caterer

Chat logs?

Is there a problem with the length of our relationship? Do you think this will be sufficient for the I-130? Is there any weight if I add affidavits from members of her family, since they are not American citizens/residents? Any other recommendations? Does the I-130 ever get denied for failure to justify the relationship?

6+ members of my family will travel to the Philippines for the December wedding, I'll add her to my health plan, and I will make an additional trip in August so I'm thinking we will be okay come interview time.

Thank You!

Eric.

If I were you I'd get affidavits of support for the I-130 from her family. No where does it specify that the affidavit must be from a USC, just make sure that they are properly notarized and in English. I think theres a template floating around somewhere.

i dont think there is a problem.... Well, in my case we applied for K-1 visa. Ours wasnt that long too, but we never encounter any problem at all, in fact mine was approved so fast... we filed our K-1 around april 2008, got approved june 2008 and went to US august 2008. For as long as you have your evidence proving that you have a relationship going on, you will be fine.

Good luck!

Thank you Marizzacdo!

We'll have a ceremonial wedding in December....wouldn't it be nice if our application were as motivated as yours to go through so quickly? Then she could return to the states with me after the ceremony. I'm trying not to think this way because I know the typical time is longer.

Thank you so much for your help and encouragement,

Eric.
