Hi everyone,

I am getting nervous and hope someone can help!!! My Green Card was supposed to be sent 'in the next 30 days' on November 30th. I waited until February and realized that it definitely was not going to arrive so I sent an I90 form to get a replacement card. They received the form and on March 7th sent me a letter via mail to confirm that they are processing the case. Now, over 2 months later, my case status on the website still says 'On March 7, 2011, we received this I90 APPLICATION TO REPLACE ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made.....'.

Has anyone else had an experience with I90? If so, how long did the replacement take? I tried to call them and they can't answer anything on the phone apparently but I dont know what to do. My EAD runs out in mid-july so I don't have long left to sort this issue out.

Thanks so much in advance for any help,

Nikki

Oh wow really. That's insane! I dunno what i'll do if I can't work for a few months! I really hope they sort it out soon or that someone can tell me about how long it took for them...just to give me hope!

Seems so easy to just reprint and send...it's not like someone needs to sit and make a decision...

You are an LPR now, with or without the actual plastic card, and you are authorized to work. You can easily get a blue Green Card ASAP. It's called the I-551 stamp.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

My wife is in the same boat...she got her green card with conditional status which was wrong, she entered USA after our second marriage anniversary, so she should have received 10 year green card, we mailed the wrong card back with explaination and some proofs on january 2nd. 2011. and just 2 weeks ago she did her biometrics appt and pic taken . and her case status is still in initial review. its almost 5 months since we filed, and processing times on uscis's site says 3.5 months.

i am also not sure whats going on and how long we'l have to wait. USCIS states the during initial review status applicant/petitner's background checks are done and blah blah, buy in our case visa was approved NOV 2010 and POE was on dec 15 2010, so i am confused if they are doing all those time consuming checks again, even thou wrong green card was their fault.
