Hello. I have a quick question. In the instructions for the I-751, its says that i need two completed fingerprint cards (FD-258). But then im looking at everyones posts and no one it seems is sending the FD-258. Can you please tell me ASAP (cause i only have 1 month left to file) if i need to include it in the I-751 application. Thank you

After you file your i-751 you will receive after about 2 weeks your Bio-Metric appointment notice where they will take your f/prints and take a new photo.

The passport-style photos and fingerprint cards (FD-258) are only required for those who reside overseas pursuant to military or government orders and conditional resident dependents residing overseas. If you live in the U.S., you will be sent an ASC notice that tells you where to go to get your Biometrics (fingerprints) and photo taken.

90 days before 11/26 is the 28th. So it had better not be received before that date. Wait a day or two. No need to cut it so close to risk having it rejected for arriving early. You have a three day weekend coming up so it will be an extra few days to be processed anyway. I would shoot for the 30th if it was me.

Thanks, That's exactly what I didn't want to do. Have them receive too early (and even if it's one day early I know they will probably reject if they want to...)and waste another week just for sending one day early. I called the USICS office and spoke to three different agents and some reason they just counting (Augst & October being 31 days month)26th to 26th (From Nov-26th to Oct 26th and so on...)and not realizing two extra days but I know if it comes back I can't blame it on one but myself for not doing my homework and being too patient. Also, I was going to mail FedEx but since it's P O Box I FedEx told me it had to mailed via US Postal mail. And I did 2-3 days priority mail so they will not have it till 29th or 30th so I will be in 90 days window by than. Thank you!

What is the standard to sending copies of bank statements, electric bills, phone bills, etc., showing joint accounts? I don't know if my husband and I should be sending months of our bank statements or if 1 or 2 months is sufficient?

The bank statements, electric bills, phone billes should cover the last 2 years of your life (6-8 of it).

Suprised with one thing (may be I am wrong)....

USCIS does not requires any pictures of the beneficiary of 751I.

Greetings!

My wife and I are currently filling out the I751.

My wife has 4 names in her birth name, like so: Jane Margret Betty Doe

The first two are her first name, the third her middle name, and the last her family name.

She commonly uses Jane M. Doe to sign things and this is how the utility bills are addressed.

Should she put Jane M. Doe in the Other Names field? Or some variation thereof, like Jane Margret Doe?

I would not recommend it, although it can be done. My wife's conditional green card expired on May 4th. Her father in Bolivia had an embolism and she had to travel to Bolivia a week or so before her conditional card expired. Long answer short...I had to contact the embassy there and make an appointment to get what they call a "boarding letter" that is a visa stamp in her bolivian passport that says "this is not a visa, it is permission to board a plane to the united states" (or something to that effect).

She got back in, but not without some severe anxiety on my part...and an extra ticket to Bolivia (although I DID get to drink copious amounts of Paceña beer with her 8 brothers and a dozen or two cousins while I was there).

SHe would NOT have been able to come back if:

a) she had left the USA AFTER the conditional green card expired

b) we had not already APPLIED for the removal of conditions before the conditional card expired.

In other words, if you are playing by the rules, and you have to leave before you get your 10-year green card, then you PROBABLY can get back in...but if you are NOT playing by the rules (leaving after the conditional card expires, NOT filing the ROC petition in the 90-day window, etc) then you are likely screwed.

Note also that the "boarding letter" ("visa") they give you is also not PERMISSION to enter the USA, it is just permission to FLY here. You still are at the mercy of the immigration folks at the port of entry after that. Fortunately we were able to show them that the ROC was already in process and she had a pending Biometrics appointment...so they let her in, warning her that she could only use the boarding letter ONCE, so she can't go anywhere outside the USA until she gets the 10-year card.

I found it interesting that there was virtually no information on this process when we found ourselves in this position. I actually had to go from ground-up by contacting the embassy in Bolivia and asking them what could be done. I called USCIS before I got to the embassy, but they called the thing to get a "returning resident visa" which it is NOT actually called. Took me quite a few emails back and forth to the embassy in La Paz, but finally got it sorted out, and only had ONE wasted trip across Bolivia to the embassy appointment due to bad information from the embassy personnel to get it done. Second trip went off without a hitch.

Another thing perhaps worth mentioning is that at least in Bolivia, the embassy only schedules appointments for this type of visa one day a week (Mondays) so we ended up having to stay an extra week (and having to drink a LOT more beer) because of bad information I got in an email on the process to follow from the embassy before I left the USA.

All's well that ends well, though.

Something to keep in mind...

I just saw this. This doesn't make any sense. When you file for ROC, the NOA that comes in the mail extends your green card for one year.

My gc will expire on dec 19, 2012, and i just mail my packet of ROC last tuesday thru express mail and they received and signed it wednesday, they cashed my check thursday... Hope will not get any problem cause im late already...

Don't worry, you are not late.

ROC must be filed within the 90 days preceding the expiration date on your GC.

I just received NOA regarding confirmation of my ROC packet and it says they'll extend my status for 1 year... So i need to keep that letter and what's next after that?

Next you will get a Biometrics appointment letter and you can use the receipt number from that letter to check your case online
