"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Another question. Flying from Russia to the US through Canada would not require anything other than her international passport and K-1 visa correct?

Shooting for around June 1st

I'm thinking slim or someone who's did the Russia thing more than a few times will have a better twist on this. I know if she buys her ticket from Omsk to Moscow within / from a Russian agency she should be able to beat the prices we are shown here from US agency's. Now from Moscow to Detroit...I believe it's all the same no matter where the ticket is purchased from. Using the "Big 3" (travelocity, expedia, and cheaptickets), cheaptickets was the lowest of them. Keep in mind the 21 day advance thingy... Then I would do a "Moscow to Detroit" on there after she find out if or what price break she gets from Omsk to Moscow. Cheapest days to fly are "Tuesday, Wed., and Thursday...just play with those three days for the cheapest flight.

She can fly through any country...she just can't leave the customs area. Short lay over...np.

In my experience, travel between two major airposts is the cheapest, say Moscow to JFK. You can take a train to Moscow and book a cheap flight on ine of the domestic carriers (Southwest or Jet Blue) from JFK to Detroit. we usually buy tickets JFK to Kiev or Moscow and then buy Burlington to JFK tickets later. we can actually get better prices for BTV to JFK with last minute purchases. Try every possbe combination and consider other airports also, Toledo or even Chicago or consider JFK and driving to meet her.

Don't automatically assume (for internal travel within Russia) that train is cheaper than plane. Especially, if you would like her to travel in somewhat comfortable conditions and want to book an 'SV' ('Sleeping Wagon')- they get pricey. Good luck!

In the future, if you have an amex card, I recommend getting a frequent flyer membership with Delta or AirFrance. That's what I do, and I paid 241$ for SPb>Moscow>JFK roundtrip.

 I have 2 Amex Delta Sky Miles cards, one for business and one for home and both are tied to my sky miles account. We we manage two international round trips a year without paying. Good for flights on several airlines.
