good.. just waiting to hear from the embassy. packet should have been to her by now, hopefully this week. i called the embassy 2 times now and didnt really get anywhere, guess they cant say or dont know the status of the case. we decided not to wait anyway though, gonna pay the visa fee and try to setup the appointment and med exam. and hoping she can have her interview while im there in October, but not sure that will happen.

hope everyone else is having good things going on!

They don't mail out a packet 3 anymore. All the forms are online now. Last time I checked, there were many available interview dates in October.

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

When I checked our case status today I put in the wrong number at first by accident (the last digit was off by 1) and almost had a heart attack when the status said approved and a notice was sent out on Sept 16. *sigh* It was not our petition... I realized that when I checked the case number again and saw it was the person before mine. :crying:

They do mail out a letter to notify you that the case is eligible for interview scheduling. Amy got one at her home in Paranaque and here. :D That's all they mail out, that I'm aware of. Think of all the money they've spent in the past on postage of several forms; not to mention packets getting lost in the mail. Go online to the US Embassy Manila's website for all the current forms. Use the examples given here for the best answers to give each box question. I filled out the forms for Amy and plan on going with her to the interview. I'll be carrying the forms and all supporting documentation with me. If you want to (and that date is still available), you can keep us company at the embassy when we're there on 10-18-11. :)

yeah thats pretty much what we're doing... gonna pay the visa and then we will setup the interview. not sure when she's planning to do the med exam, she still has to get her nbi as well. sent her a TON of stuff via email, so pretty much all she has to do is fill out the DS- forms and get those last few items and we have everything we need.

and i'm gonna be there 9th-15th, so won't be able to hangout at the embassy. :( i burned up all my leave in may and july going there so only have like 6 days of leave for this trip, haha. but i wish you both the best of luck for sure!

Okay. I understand. Her NBI will only take a few minutes to get if there aren't any past legal issues, which I suspect there aren't. We still have to get hers, too. I've heard that it's best to have any financial statements backed up with a letter from the bank on bank stationary. Also, like with the I-129F petition, all signatures must be original signatures. They cannot be reproductions in any way. I'm taking a little more time off than you are. I'll be there from 10-10 until 11-11.

One final thing... make sure she pays the visa fee well before 3 pm. Otherwise, it won't be credited until the next day. She'll need her passport (passport number at the very least). The receipt number will be her passport number. It's less frustrating to schedule the interview appointment online.

she's gonna just pay at bpi, so should be ok with the visa fee. i totally forgot about getting the i134 notorized, so gonna have to redo it, no big deal.

what's with this 260 form i saw? is that really needed to be able to setup the interview? havent seen anything about it on here, but i noticed it when i was on the appt site and it looks like have to put a picture of yourself on there with that form and then once you do that form then you can setup the interview date.... is that for something else, cause i havent seen squat about it on here.

With everything going on and my crazy busy life, I would LOVE me an NOA 2. I want some good news to go with my emergency tooth crown procedure tomorrow. Good news from me, I had an AWESOME birthday weekend with my little birthday girl. Big success and I survived the 18 kids that attended. WOW! ANDDDD I get to see my baby in a little more than a week. YAY!

Ahh, okay. I filled it out for Amy anyway. Better to be safe than sorry. As far as the picture for the scheduling website goes, it should be your fiancee's passport picture. Luckily, I swiped one from Amy when I was there; claiming that I wanted a picture for my wallet. It's a good thing I had it. I've made so many copies of it for all the forms we've needed to fill out and submit.

Which reminds me... don't forget that passport-style pictures are necessary for the medical.
