I have heard the opposite about the new Spiderman movie. They say it is great and that the actor who plays Spiderman should teach Tobey McGuire how to act..lol

I did like the other Spiderman movies except the last one. It had too much of Spiderman whining, moaning and complaining and not enough action.

I'm giving the Spiderman reboot 6/10. It's too tragic. It's the story of a kid who has never known true happiness. More drama, less action. Teenagers must love it.

I like your sarcastic laugh right there. Based on the trailer for the A S-M that I saw, this braniac Peter Parker was obviously written to be 'attractive' and come of as cool where as Tobey who is playing a nerd was made to: look very ordinary (average), have nerd luck with girls and life in general and exhibit nerd like tendencies. I've never seen an intellect the level of Peter who looks good and has a good looking girl. Also what I like with the other S-M series is MJ was a shitty person (considering her family life) whose character was someone everyone loved to hate while the new MJ seems to have the picture perfect family life . Plus I highly doubt the director and or writers for the Amazing S-M came close to the quality production as those for S-M's 1 & 2 and the villains don't look and behave cartoony.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Watched with my father in the theater...beyond weird in some parts. Nice watch though, trying subtly to get my sister to watch.

Which one, the Swedish original or the American re-make?

Re-make. May have read somewhere that the Swedish one was good or better.

I think everyone I've heard about who has seen both say the Swedish original is better. I haven't seen the American version, so I can't say anything about it.

I get it that Hollywood wants to cash in. I don't feel any need to watch the American version though. I honestly just don't see the point.

I haven't read the books either for that matter. I was just interested in your opinion. It is rare for something not music-related to come out of Sweden and get this popular.

We watched Ip Man last night. I thought it was so-so but my husband really liked it.

Ip Man isn't as bad as Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior.

My husband likes martial arts and sci-fi movies, something that calls for my adaptation skills. laughing.gif I watched Ip Man and Ip Man 2 (sequel) with him last year. He even streamed one of Jackie Chan's Cantonese films, Drunken Master.

I like JC's Drunken Master but I haven't watched in years. Saw Who Am I last night, laughed a lot.

Anybody ever watched the Gods Must be Crazy?

Another movie we downloaded on iTunes recently is The Big Year. Aside from telling you to follow and live your dreams, the story is pretty pointless and I'm starting to dislike Owen Wilson a lot.

I smiled at the ending narration though. Brad (Jack Black) said that Bostick (Wilson) embarked on another birding adventure in China. It showed Wilson standing in what seems to be a Chinese structure. I recognized the location right away as the Chinese garden at the Huntington Botanical Gardens in San Marino, CA. Good production trick!

The Gods Must Be Crazy is my mother's favorite, actually both the first movie and its sequel. I was a very little kid when she played it for the family. I can only remember three things: the Coke bottle, the lead actor's strange smile and my mother's laughing tears.

My husband and I both like SciFi movies and there are a few martial art movies that I enjoyed, like Unleashed and The Warrior's Way
