Fine. eliminate discretionary spending for years and cut defense spending in half. There's $900+ billion for you.

There are ways, just no one is willing to do what needs to be done to fix the budget.

I did it in a way that's not at all unreasonable. 66% cuts and 34% tax increases. Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid all remain although the eligibility age would go up to 68. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are rolled back significantly. Defense spending sees other cuts as well - I do believe that we have a nuclear arsenal that doesn't need to be beefed up. And some more minor things. I think that can be done.
